I'm surprised by how many here thought the Leafs were so good they would sweep the Panthers. Not sure what else it could be to see the doomers. People realize to have a 6 or 7 game series that means the Leafs need to lose a few games?

Horrible game last night... Probably the worst game they've played in a long while...

And all in all it was only a 2-0 game... They can totally still turn this thing around.

Looking forward to the next game on Wednesday night.

Well, if you just remove all the noise and the BS, you'll see that this is just a series that happened many times in the past. Meaning, the home team has won every game. That happens every playoff. Ending them in 5 was probably never realistic. So yes, there shouldn't be any panic over losing a couple of games. Regroup, they have 2 days here, and have a great game Wednesday night.

Kampf in for Jarnkrok or Holmberg and ease Matthews PKing time. And maybe Robertson in for McMann

I like your first sentence. Not the second. McMann needs to stay in the lineup. He's a heavy body and although he's not scoring he does bring size and speed on the forecheck. He also is a prime candidate to lose an edge cutting to the net and accidently landing on or pinning Bobrovsky. By accident of course.

The obvious problem, which is not new to this group, is the lack of depth after you get past the top guys. Kerfoot, Mikayev, Engval, Bunting, Kampk, Jarnock, Holmberg, etc etc. All black holes in terms of offence. This is directly related to top money going to a few guys and the rest is used fill out the roster from the bargain bin. Problem will persist unless the top group gets busted up. Teams like FLA seem to be getting more out of their bottom 6 players.

Well the top guys need to preform obviously, the complete lack of secondary scoring from our bottom 6 is 100% a issue, but not the top issue right now.

This is a topic for another day, but Toronto needs to get bigger in the bottom 6 as well. Jarnkork/Robertson/Domi (not as much)/Holmberg for example can't wear down the d-man and forecheck. If you're not scoring, the least you could do is ware down the other team d-man.
This free agent class we should grab a couple like Tanev, Jeannot, Frederic

100%. If they lose game 5 at home, I think panic is appropriate. Until then... What are we doing? I think people just like to complain and be dramatic

You know when you have those moments where you can feel a goal about to happen right before?

The moment I saw Laughton taking the draw in our zone for the 5 on 3 I knew a goal was about to happen. He lost the draw of course and soon after the goal went in

How come Kulikov didn’t get a fine?

Laughton is the least of our issues.

Domi suspended for his hit at end of game!!!! League once again shows its stance against the Leafs. What happened to the cheap head shot at Marner's head? Double standard I see.....
He wasn't suspended - he was fined $5,000, which is roughly equivalent to 4 peanuts and half a cup of cold McDonalds coffee to us mere mortals.

Tampa fan here maybe I'm wrong but our problem last series maybe we were trying to play the Panthers at their own game instead of ours which cost us.

Leafs seem to be doing this too. Do you guys think this might be the case as well?

Interesting that with all the heat Matthews is taking he’s still a point per game and has the highest +/-, while facing the toughest matchups the most.
He has the most shots on the team, and the lowest shooting % of the top 6.

They have to start going in.

it's debatable. They've ignored most of it mostly. I think you need some kind of balance. Ekblad jersey jabbing Tavares 20 times and him just standing there like a moron like Marleau is stupid as well.

Very similar series to Rd 1 except we lost the pivotal Game 3 in OT this time instead of winning. And the obligatory no-show shutout occurred in Game 4 instead of Game 5.

It’s the equivalent of 13 bucks on a 100k salary. It would probably get you a booster juice

sure, but then game 1 happened, and then game 2 happened, and then game 3 happened, and unfortunately game 4 happened

we took a 2-0 lead, I really don't think you understand how important that was, how incredible and amazing that was. We were in the drivers seat. Still had a lot of work to be done, and panthers weren't gonna go away easy but we were in the best position ever

then game 3 happens, Knies scores instantly, JT soon after and we head into the intermission up 3-1. This was to go up 3-0 and essentially punch our ticket to the ECF. Again you don't understand how incredible, important and amazing that is if you actually believe your post. We collapse, fold, break, choke, roll over, and every other term used to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the 2nd, yet we battle back and get into OT. Lose to a bad bounce but it sucked immensly, we could've had the series essentially wrapped.

Game 4 was an abomination that shouldn't be talked about

The expectations should've been different and higher when the team went up 2-0. The execution should've been higher. The desperation should've been higher. The focus should've been higher and yet it wasn't.

We squandered a perfect start, and gave florida all the momentum, and don't try to say game 7 at home is an advantage. Playing a game 7 is 2 things:

1. Failure by the team to finish the job
2. A death sentence. Will it be slow and sole crushing, or swift and painless, i can't tell you that but like Babcock said "There's gonna be pain" in that game.
