I finally checked the box score from the last game and I see that after leading the forwards in ice time last game against Ottawa, Nylander played 5 and a half minutes less than Marner in game 1.

Is that a misprint or something, WTF Berube!!? Get your your head out of your ass and let stud boy loose, what are you waiting for?
Can't complain too much because we're winning but still, Marner playing 5 more minutes than Nylander tonight makes no sense whatsoever. And Matthews playing almost 6 minutes more, seriously coach, WTF??

If Matthews had any shooting ability at all right now he could have had like 4 goals tonight honestly lol

Anyway the ice time is probably line matching the Florida 1st line plus PK. Nothing more than that

The Leafs may actually have a tougher time with a team like Carolina. Florida is slow and sloppy. That plays well into the Leafs style of play. Carolina is the opposite.

Share your WTF comments about ice time.
…because of what points?

Pretty happy to be up 2-0, but got to say I am real concerned about goaltending. Great so far but with Stollarz out, probably for a while, it all hinges on Woll. If he falters and Bobrovsky finds his normal form this could get ugly.

You're probably right. Carolina's the fastest team left in the postseason. But the funny thing is, in the regular season we've been one of the teams who've really broken them open.

I don't put much stock in any regular season games.

It seems fairly clear that Tkachuk is not 100%. He seems to be struggling to get up and down the ice, and isn't his forceful self in and around the net.

I would imagine the FLA sunshine will be a boost for him and his team.

Would be crazy to not expect the absolute best from him and the Panthers on Friday.

It also felt like Bennett knew he was being watched. He stayed out of any schenanigans all night.

Likewise expect him to be back in full force next game.

Woll is going to need to have the game of his life imo.

Neither is Matthews so it's a wash.
Matthews has been infinitly better than Tkachuk. Matthews on the defensive side of the puck looks plenty healthy to me. And he is getting looks but just missing the net.

Night and day. Even if he is hurt, he is way healthier than Tkachuk. Not that I am complaining... I'll take any advantage we can get!

This series will go the same way like the previous series between them with the added twist of Woll's revenge tour
Win games 1,2,3 (in OT)
Lose game 4
Win Game 5 in OT - Holmberg with OT winner
Woll Gudas-roars at Panthers in hand-shake line

Berube should insert Kampf on the Laughton line.

Lorentz Laughton Kampf
Or
Lorentz Kampf Laughton

Kampf is far more suited in a shutdown role than Jarnkrok is.

Bobrovsky's last 11 playoff games going back to last year's finals vs EDM have been kinda trash.

Only 2 gp where he has had a Sv% above .910. He has allowed 33 goals against on 243 shots. .864 Sv%.

Since March 11th of this year he has played 19 gp, allowing 47 goals on 425 shots. .889 Sv%.

Amongst NHL goalies with 10+ gp since March 11th (reg season AND playoffs combined) Bobrovsky ranks 21st in dFenSv% (out of 35 goalies).

Stolarz ranks 4th, Woll ranks 7th.

-----------------------------------------

This kind of is Bob's form these days. I appreciate what you are getting at though... his stellar form, which we've seen in the past.. but not so much lately.

Woll got much better as the game went on and made plenty of ten bell saves in the third. Woll playing 'mid' netted us two wins, now what happens if he gets hot? Florida will be f***ed then. Woll is also someone who seems to do better under more pressure.

He also turns 37 this year. Very likely he's headed for a steep decline pretty soon.

Everyone needs to keep in mind, that Woll sat for long periods of time between games here. Only three games in April, and no games from April 17th, to May 5th... it takes some time to get everything game ready and sharp. He's done a remarkable job so far, given the circumstances, and it wouldn't shock me to see him play a stellar game or two shortly.

Kampf is otherwise vanilla though. Jarnkrok actually took it to the Panthers last game. So did Holmberg to my surprise actually

Kampf does nothing. I see no difference between Jarnkrok and Kampf other than their positions

We are winning with this lineup. I see no reason to sit Jarnkrok for Kampf. Jarnkrok is a better skater than Kampf, and while he isn't putting up points right now, he's better offensively naturally. He's played as physical as his size can allow.. so I'm all for keeping it status quo for now.

Patches has played very well for us, I doubt we ever see Robertson in a Leafs uniform again. (barring injury)

Our 4 C's in Faceoffs....

Matthews 58.6%
Tavares 55.6%
Laughton 56.1%
Domi 57.1%

Our team Faceoff percentage is 57.6% The only other active team with a FO% above 50%, is Vegas at 50.6%.
