Best shot in the draft.

His skating has improved and he's been working a ton with the Colts' skating coach over the past few months.

You're gonna love this guy.
Thanks alot McNDicks.
Who in the NHL does he remind you of?

At least they took a boom or bust. Sounds like he's got one of the best shots in the class and has already shown marked skating improvement since last year. Being a burner isn't in the cards but if he's an average skater then hey

Lol...

"Nice pick by the Flyers Muddy! He's a local Alliston kid. Watched him play ball hockey in our local Beeton rink 2 weeks ago! The other team had Quinton Byfield on it. There was also about 10 former OHL players and a kid that will play for Vegas this year. It was a stacked ball hockey evening in Beeton!"

Would Brock Boeser be a comparable? Not the best skater either but gets open and has a silly shot.

Fix his skating and I think this might be a real steal. Hope to see some good stuff about this kid in the next 2 years.
Between Brink and Foerster there won’t be calls for a sniper in a few years. Assuming both improve their skating.
Button thinks Foerster just needs to get stronger and doesn’t have a skating issue. I’ll buy it.

Jacob Barker - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 30th: "His rocket of a shot makes him incredibly dangerous in a variety of offensive situations, particularly his wicked one-timer from the top of the circle. Other than his shot, Foerster does not play an overly flashy style."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 21st: "Foerster was a driver of offence on a team that needed it in Barrie in 2019-20 and he just kept getting better as the year went along. When it was all said and done, his 80 points ranked fifth among first-year draft eligibles in the OHL."

Chris Peters - ESPN - June 30th: "A solid scorer who gets up and down the ice well, Foerster navigates the offensive zone with great awareness and can work himself into good ice to create chances."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - June 25th: "Has a zest for the game like former Colt Mark Scheifele and a nose for the net like Tanner Pearson did in Barrie. The goal-scoring element is too strong to overlook."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - June 22nd: "His goal-scoring ability stood out at the start of the season and his play continued to develop during the second half and he finished with 80 points (36 goals, 44 assists) in 62 games. The 6-1, 194-pound right-hand shot is a gifted offensive player who consistently puts himself in the right areas of the ice to get into scoring areas and make plays through traffic."

Eddy Jones - The Hockey Writers - May 22nd: "Tyson Foerster has an absolute rocket of a shot and it’s hard to ignore his progression from his rookie season. He went from 10 goals and 23 points in 64 games last year to 36 goals and 80 points in 62 games played this season."

Tony Ferrari - Dobber Prospects - Jan. 29th: "He has a very good shot but outside of that plays a very stable game. He doesn’t ‘wow’ with his skating or transition game but he makes smart plays and attacks the net."

More PP goals than ES goals last year is a little concerning.

I truly have no opinion on this player other than we passed on a couple guys I really fancied. I can’t find any tape. Maybe I’ll consult the Top Prospects Game, if it’s available. His highlights look less one dimensional than I figured, based on his one timer praise.

Yes, but is that a good or a bad thing? I don’t know, so it’s just posing a question. You can argue he’s very good at anticipating or using his range to get into areas to receive those.....or you could argue he’s the benefactor of great passing. Maybe both are true. The fact he lapped his team in points might lean towards the former. I don’t want to act like I know anything though.

Player of the game for Team White.

Had 2 goals and an assist.

Foerster has a weird skating stance it’s kinda wide and clumsy when he does the slow turns half assed crossover.
Doesn’t look bad skating in a straight line but looks really bad in his turns.

Most of the scoring that’s shown in Foerster’s highlights come from the left circle or standing almost stationary in front of the net.

Impressed with Foerster’s shot but the hockey IQ and the skating needs to be worked on if he wants to be top 6 forward in the NHL, but looks destined to be a middle 6 forward.

I can see Foerster getting the JVR comparisons.
