I really thought Marner was going to be the consensus MVP of the series after starting with 8 points in 3 games. Seems like he got jumped a bit by Samsonov and Rielly. Even with that said you still have to appreciate the elite production he brought, 11 points in 6 games is by far the best offensive series a Leaf has had in the big 3 era.
he was also just really good, my vote would be Rielly, but Marner would be 2nd. Schenn/Matthews/Samsonov 3rd.

Still Matthews for me (with acceptance of Rielly taking it though).

The reason why it's "not even close" towards Matthews is because you can literally not get what he just provided anywhere else.

Game 6 throws down 4 blocks with most of them key. Throwing his body around all series with selke level defence.

And our most favorite: Goals.

Most of us were convinced round 2 is happening after he opened the scoring yesterday. Rielly had the best "moments" but Matthews carried us and allowed the comebacks so to speak (shout out to Ilya too). Just wasn't as exciting as Riellys big moments.

But I mean Rielly was a beast too so I'm not arguing about this. It makes sense the only options are Rielly or Matthews with everyone else being honorable mentions.

Rielly/Matthews tied for first.
A shoutout to Luke Schenn, he was way better and way more reliable then many thought he would be.

They don't win this series without Matthews.

He is the one secret ingredient that makes this team different.

Loved Rielly, Samsonov, Marner, O'Rielly, Tavares, McCabe, Brodie, Schenn too. It really was a team effort and they needed all those guys too, but the Pat Burns and Pat Quinn Leafs had guys like that too and couldn't get over the top. Matthews is the difference-maker.

Boring answer but the correct one. When the emotion wears off, it will be seen.

I don't really care who wins the poll though. I'm just happy this exists as a discussion at this point of the season.

Bunting… for showing us what we have in Matthew Knies.

Seriously though… it’s Mo and Sammy.

Rielly or Matthews, both played fantastic.

The calls of Mo's demise were greatly exaggerated.

He kept playing hard when the rest of the team didn't. :thumbu:
His rep coming here was that he'd lose confidence once a bad game or goal happened. Well both things happened: he had a bad Game 1 and that terrible goal in Game 5 but he totally bounced back.

I never vote in polls but if I did, Sammy would get my vote.

I will only add that I'm surprised that after about 180 people have voted, Mitch Marner who lead the team in scoring with 11 points has only 1 vote.

Morgan Rielly. Matthews not far off, but Rielly was a machine. So happy for him after a not so great ref season. He’s an elite talent and its great to see him regain thet form. Hopefully we can resign Schenn as he really provides stability defensively to let Morgan do his thing.

We wouldn't have won without Sammy hands down.
MO was a close 2nd
Mathews 3rd

We get goaltending like this who knows how far we can go.

Sammy won us game 6

Rielly. The only other player I considered was Samsonov, and it's a tough call between the two of them.

Rielly is such a good hockey player.

For me it was Sammy. Outside of game 1 and 5 he held us in games and made key saves to keep us in those overtime games. Game 3 with Kucherov coming down the wing I thought crap this is when Leafs goalies of the past would crumble. Game 4 some huge saves to keep the comeback efforts alive and last night just solid.
