Staal was easily series MVP in my book. Guy played fantastic hockey from top to bottom. What a luxury it is to have him on our 2nd pairing.

I thought Stepan quietly had a great series. Set Nash/MSL for many great chances. Played great on the PK. Always sound defensively. Though he really brought it all series long.

I'm very happy to be wrong about this game. Mason stood on his head, this game would've been 5-0 after two periods if not for him.

Beating the Penguins in a playoff series would be a huge monkey off of this franchise's back. Have they ever won a series against Pittsburgh?

Tonight I thought the best players were Nash, Zucc, Stralman and most importantly Staal.

For the series Zucc, Staal and Dom Moore.

The Rangers were pretty much dominating till the men's league goal Hank gave up. It's a shame because he was having a very very good game. Thankfully he shook it off and was excellent at the end. Staal has been fantastic, taking the load off of McD a little bit. Huh
Girardi was very good tonight after that performance yesterday. McD was much better tonight. Stralman was a man tonight as well. I think the entire team was excellent. AV had them ready and made all the right moves.

I want to say I think Stepan, and Boyle had an under rated series.

I hope the Rangers kick the pants off of Pittsburgh, I can't stand those whiners.

1st and 2nd periods were good. 3rd period he was kinda bad. a lot of botched plays sending the momentum in Philly's favor but he was at least contributing defensively so he wasn't horrible overall.

He made some great defensive plays in the 3rd I thought

And now we are held hostage to NBC. On NBC some of the things you point out and everyone can see, will be ignored or following a commercial break. You will never see a replay. Instead, after the break, we'll see McQuire interviewing Blysma and asking him, Why is Crosby the best player in the NHL.:banghead:

If we're lucky Kenny Albert will get to cast our games, I'm keeping my fingers crossed

What crack head makes the playoff schedule that the Rangers are playing 5 games in 7 days? We're the only team that just had back-to-backs on games 6 and 7, so we'll be the first series to make it to game 3 on Monday. That's ****ing idiotic

Honestly I thought Nash was engaged, physical at times and not awful.

I'm done with him. Love to get him off this team.

The coast job to the bench without hitting anyone was enough. Even the NBC guys caught it.

I'm out

I didnt get the NBC feed... what did they say?

Rangers are partially to blame as well. We should've put the Flyers away in 5 or 6 games.

Why so? The teams are pretty evenly matched. Regardless, the NYR don't make the schedule and we're the only playoff team with back to back games in both rounds. 3 games in 4 nights to end round one and 3 games in 4 nights to start round two is ********. We're the only team to play 3 in 4 nights to close round one, so they make us the first team to reach game 3 in round two? That's garbage

We had 2-1 and 3-2 leads and followed it up with stinker games. Philly has been our ***** for 3-4 years now. This should've been done in 5 or 6 games.

Always nice to see the Rangers get the newspaper cover, probably helps that baseball was rained out.

Didnt catch all the Ranger games but 5 of them.

My series MVPs would be

Staal
Marty
Depth scoring.. cant really pick one, but a lot of players did score goals which is something that has been missed for this team so much.

Lundqvist - had a decent series with one crapper of a game but other than that he was solid to great in the games I saw. Needs to be great all series long vs the Penguins though.

Nash - Solid, not great, definately need to be better than he has been. I dont get the love for him I really dont. If you are being paid like a mega star you should do better than this. Cant get a free pass anymore because he is somewhat physically engaged and trying his best.

Richards - Well he's Richards... Like Nash, needs to better but he actually steps up at times.

McDonagh - I think he was pretty bad.. He can only get better though and I think he will.

If all 4 players takes another step up.. watch out for the Rangers

Crosby-NYC?

Doc Emerick and Fat Eddie O all series.

He needs to retire. I'm so sick of him being the national voice. It's criminal that local broadcasters can't call their teams after round 1.

Not taking away from any other Dmen but Girardi is a warrior.

Game 6 was an example of how this team struggles if he doesn't have a solid game against the best opposing forwards. It's not just McD.

Watch this guy in isolation. He is starting to remind me of Scott Stevens.

We are going nowhere without this guy.

Carcillo is also playing with more talented players, dude. I don't really see Carcillo performing better than Dorsett with Boyle and Moore.

Agreed. Carcillo has been better on the offensive side of the puck. DD has been better on the defensive side of the puck.

Both have been physical.

Love the way Nash played... could have easily had 2 goals...just not getting any luck...plus he was physical and came up big with that play against Timonen... I think he breaks out next series.

Can't blame Lundqvist for that goal...the initial shot was blocked and came right back to Akeson. Lundqvist was still basically reacting to the first shot, couldn't really see the rebound back to Akeson, so wasn't in position. It was a lucky bounce for the Flyers who got a lot of them in this series.

That said, not really happy that the Rangers blew game six so badly and had to hang on for game 7. I know Philly is a damn persistent team and will always keep coming at you until the final whistle, but I dunno, just feel really disappointed the Rangers couldn't put this away in 6. They have to do better staying desperate to win these games.

Not really sure what to expect out of a Pittsburgh series. The Pens basically had to overload their top line to finally get going against Columbus, but then with Sutter injured their center depth went to crap again and they'll probably have to separate Crosby and Malkin again. If the Rangers can keep the pressure on offensively I think they have a chance, if they sit back and let the Pens dictate the flow of the game then they're screwed. MAF the wildcard as usual

Unbiased? LOL. Anyone that calls that a terrible goal doesn't have a clue. And I don't care if you've played or not. It simply is wrong.

Anyone who doesn't think that goal was terrible is an utter fanboy. See how the works?

Perhaps from now on, instead of flying off the handle when one says a goal is weak, you can just ignore it instead of having a multiple debate. I'll always engage anyone in debate, but then you'll just complain that people are bashing Hank.

Save us both the hassle.

Interesting to note, but I don't ever think I've seen a multiple thread where the supposed Hank haters)(including notorious "haters" like Snowblind) have created multi page debates over whether he made a good save. It only occurs when one voices an opinion that he misplayed something.

So I think it's pretty clear why we have these silly debates and they can be avoided incredibly easily.

I was very impressed by the job Berube did this year, and in this series.

Agreed. I loved how he was able to change strategies and adjust. I hate seeing Philly have a competent goalie and coach.

Growing up in the 90's, the Rangers would ALWAYS get back page covers, even during the regular season. Not sure what happened, but for the past 15 years or so they just stopped and avoided putting the Rangers on the back page at all costs, it seems. It's B.S. because there are TONS of Rangers fans in this city, and the press acts like nobody cares about hockey which is total bullspit.

I am sick of "waffle board", "knifing" and all his other goofball sayings. In general I do not want to hear a dude from Revenge of the Nerds calling playoff games.

Olczyk is another doofus. For a guy that won a cup with the Rangers he sure hates them. I wish Kris King or Domi would have their name engraved on the Cup, I would rather one of his horses comment on the games.
