Weren't you the one who said you would avoid these sorts of chats earlier?
Sure. I also don't think what I said was a "spat." Rather I was commenting on the ridiculous premise of your post without getting personal or nasty.
I purposely avoided commenting on anything you said since then, but since you want to dance again...
You need to at least let me put on my shoes.
You spent the entire series ripping Hank during the games.
Incorrect, of course.
When pressed after the games you changed to spreading the blame over a wider area. I would be more impressed if you maintained consistency throughout.
See above.
Makes me wonder if you are even aware of this behavior.
Your post here makes me wonder if you have actively tracked my posts, which while it would be creepy, you'd see that I have maintained consistency in either acknowledging good play or bad play (or just not saying anything at all).
We get it. Hank gives up a stream of soft goals. He is holding the uber-talented roster back. With a real goalie, it wouldn't, t be fair to the rest of the league.
Who has said this? It certainly hasn't been me. I view him as the best goalie in the league over the last decade or so. I think he's had a bit of a mediocre year by his own standards, but that doesn't change my view that he's the best at his position.
You are truly oblivious to the relative merits of goaltending.
I would say that you are truly obvious to the relative merits of goaltending since you have the inability to criticize when necessary.
How about a list of the goaltenders who have performed better this post-season, without trying to be cute. Can you handle that? It should be easy for you considering all of Hank's softies.
Mason certainly outplayed him in this series, I think. Rask has been the single best goalie in the post-season so far. Crawford put up better stats than Hank, but I'd much rather have Hank between the pipes if we leave money out of the equation.
Regardless of where I rank him, it doesn't make him ineligible for making a bad play now and then. His goal was soft last night and his puckhandling was atrocious (he passed the puck to Couturier on two occasions last night with one almost resulting in a goal). Other than that, as I said above, I think he had a good game. His save against Lecavalier in the slot was subtly great (and I acknowledged it in the game thread) and under-appreciated. Sometimes Hank gives up bad goals. I feel that this year he gave them up more than he has in the past (you can blame the contract or the new system or whatever you want, the point remains). If you wish to disagree, you have my permission to feel free to do so.
But yes. Clearly I think Hank is terrible. If you want to just make things up to continue this charade, be my guest. It's really fun!
