Marner has been ass, but there are a buncher of other issues as well. What has Reilly brought to this series in his offensive role? What has Anderson brought to this franchise lately? What has Mikheyev done to warrant keeping him? How about Dermott.

Matthews and Marner had a choice. Money or winning and they chose money. Not saying what they should or shouldn’t do but that was their choice. They aren’t worth the money they get, period.

First, this is wrong. Dubas overpaid relative to the market, but those guys don't deserve any scorn for getting every cent they can out of a league and a sport that makes its living off their labour. Second, again, if they were lighting it up but the Leafs were getting nothing from anyone else then there would be a kernel of truth to the idea of depth and cap management, but neither, especially Marner, are stepping up and converting.

Even if they somehow comeback, there's a fundamental flaw in the core.

They just don't have it.

They haven't adapted at all. They're not beating Price 1 on 1. They need traffic in the front. They need to screen him. They need to get the dirty goals.

The playoff stats are worrisome. But, I'm finding it hard to judge this team without Tavares and Muzzin.

He is not even remotely close to being one of the best RW in the league.
