Instead of writing that, look a little further: roster space

Dach is on injury reserve and Demidov took a spot by joining the team. If we only let Armia go, and sign a 2C, we need to trade at least one roster player. Maybe need to get rid of two if we intend to give a spot to a rookie or an added depth forward from FA. Dach and Laine are our two most injury prone players so I would personally chose them. Remember, this was said in the optic of re-signing Dvo:

CC-Suzuki-Slaf
Newhook-2C-Demidov
Andy-Dvo-Gally
Heine-Evans-Kap
Rookie-Depth

That's 14 forwards.

Sure, if we can't find a 2C, by all means, keep Dach and see if he can find redemption, but otherwise, we'll need to make space.
Trading Dach and Laine both which would have zero value to make space for rookies and resigning Dvo make zero sense especially since we don’t really have anyone knock at the door beside Demidov… Also we probably don’t want a rookie in the press box we want someone who can help out young players and accept the role of 13th FW.

If want to make space I would go with Gallagher I love him but with 2 years left and is recent play he might just have been able to gain some value.

So.....any word on whose playing goalie for us tonight?

Is Montembeault back?
Dobes should be there....if Monty isn't back who else?
Primeau? Price? Patrick Roy?

We have to see Laine next year. It will be a clearer decision by next TDL.

Dach must be moved to wing. He simply hasn't cut it as a C but I think he can have good value as a RW.

Dvorak is simply steady and well rounded. Boring but reliable

Any chatter from the other side, about Thompson playing? Strome did him a dirty one for sure.....Lindgren will be full on a bag of nerves tonight, if he starts....
Thompson couldn't put weight on his leg when he left the game, I doubt he's playing tonight...and if he does, he won't last long.

We can't keep everyone, because of how the lines align.

Can't put Laine with Demi. It doesn't work and while you might want to try it again if Laine is back 100%, if it still doesn't work, then you're f***ed with your lines and stuck with Laine.

If we keep Dvo and also get a 2C, there's simply too many players to fit the lines.

Wanna keep the 13-14-20 and 17-28-11 lines intact, so then you're left with putting either Newhook or Dach or Laine with Heineman-Evans. Then you're left with:

Dach or Newhook or Laine, the acquired 2C and Demidov. There's 3 players for 2 spots. One spot on the 2C-Demidov line, one spot on the Heineman-Evans line.

If we acquire a 2C and re-sign Dvo, at least one of Newhook, Dach or Laine has to go, and I'd rather trade one of the injury prones than Newhook who's shown usefulness. So Dach or Laine, or both.

If it's Lindgren in their net I think we have a chance even if Protas comes back.

Playoff hockey... ain't nothing like it. Imagine if we had an actual playoff-worthy roster and not old-man Savard and broken bobos like Laine, Armia, and Dach on the roster/salary cap.

Here I am 64 years old, retired, living a laid back life in the Texas Hill Country and I have butterflies over a hockey game. I must be a fanatic! GHG

Dvorak should only be signed if they aren't able to acquire another centre.
