Habs fans saying that Simmonds chickened out and punched Edmundson only after the refs came.

they say Edmundson can ragdoll Simmonds.

Thoughts?
There is no way he could go toe to toe with Simmonds, he’d get smoked. He’s much bigger than Simmonds in weight and size though so if he got a good hold of him he could toss him around pretty easily. The problem for Edmundson is that Simmonds has exceptional reach and he hits very fast and very hard; he’s gonna get some shots in quick before he can be wrestled.

If there isn't any preconceived plan to start Freddy on the second game of the b2b, I think y'all were right that Campbell is most likely starting both games. Pending how he feels after tonight.

Simmonds is clearly sending a message for the next game. Scores don't need to be settled at the end of a 5-1 win.

Outside of Petry, I don't think there is a guy on Montreal I would take before any of our top 6 D.

The only threat with their blueline is the fact that they're trying to injure Leafs and succeeding at it. On the flip side, if they're going to start dressing a rookie like Caufield and continuing to break sticks on guys, that's not the smartest self preservation move.

I like our blueline better, but that is a stretch. I would say though their best forward whoever you want to say that is (Anderson, Tatar, Gallagher, Suzuki?) Would likely be our 5th or 6th best guy with everyone healthy.

I agree, apologies for not making it clear in my post - I wouldn't take any of their D (outside of Petry) before any of our top 6 D

I actually like what Simmonds did late in game 2. It was a message that, yeah, we kicked your ass today but we're still not satisfied. And if those crosscheck machines spend all of game 3 chasing after Simmonds, it's perfect.

Going after our skilled guys seems like a dumb strategy when the Habs have such few offensive talents up front. Especially when 2 of them are Gallagher and Caulfield, two very small players.

This just gets me so pumped for that documentary they've been filming all season.

Can't wait to see the boys and the run they go on for their Captain.

As for tonight, use game 2 as a blueprint for success, play the same and we got this.

Campbell will always keep us in, more point shots on the powerplay, Simmonds on pure disturb duty tonight, hit that little smurf so he gets scared and runs back to the shire, the playoffs are for men, not little boys.

Hopefully the big boys play well tonight and i see a good game from the third line.

As always, play hard.

This is for J.T
