Reminder: Amy Galey was the genius who issued a public request for Cooper to completely re-open Alamance County because COVID was not a serious threat in that area.

In April 2020.

I don't want these folks anywhere near PNC, regardless how many people are in the building. Pandemic or no pandemic, I wouldn't trust them to wash their hands.

I actually wouldn't mind if they're in the building, since they've suddenly decided to start wearing masks. I mean, they're doing it because they believe it'll protect them from the side effects of the vaccine when in close contact to vaccinated people (God, I wish I was joking...), but whatever gets them to wear a mask I guess

People’s opinions aside, I don’t trust any random person at all to wash their hands, even with the pandemic. I know plenty of people here in MA who are all about the COVID measures like masks, distancing, etc. who don’t wash their hands when they go to the bathroom. That lack of hygiene is not unique to people with certain beliefs.

Woo got tickets to game 4 in Nashville! Helps to be living here of.course :) Those tickets went QUICK! Missed tix to game 3 though sadly. Oh well. Maybe I'll get to see the Canes win the round game 4!!
im hoping Canes win the early ones and Nashville fans will want to sell off game 4 tickets. I may try to get some then. Nashville is half as far as Raleigh for me.

CDC just relaxed mandates on masks. Not needed indoors for vaccinated people. Wonder if that might affect Cooper's decision making?
Still needed in crowded situations, so I'm going to guess it'll still be needed in the arena, but its getting difficult to see how we really need to still be limiting capacity to 6,000 in the arena.

I'll be honest, I'm fully vaccinated. Everyone I associate with is fully vaccinated. All 4 of us that are sitting together for the playoffs are fully vaccinated. Only my children aren't, as they aren't old enough yet, but everyone they associate with is. We've managed to set up a buffer to protect all of our loved ones, so my personal anxiety over this is low. If I sit next to someone who isn't vaccinated in the arena, the only person who is at risk is that person. If they get sick, its their own fault. At a certain point, we can't keep holding everything back just because a segment of idiots out there refuse to do the bare minimum to keep themselves protected.

Agreed.

There will always be "breakout" cases (ie the 7 Yankee Coaches that just tested positive this week....although, is it a positive test + they are sick or just tested positive? They also received the less protective J&J shot) but by and large folks that have received the shots should be able to proceed safely. I have no issue going to indoor hockey or heavily attended FB games in the fall.

FWIW: wearing a mask is a habit that's tough to break.

Here in Naples/Collier County folks are still wearing masks (including me) to Restaurants, Stores, Doctor's office, etc. I guess I should put away the masks.....

Yeah I'm sure these reps from Alamance and Nash Counties, whose Twitter feeds include precisely zero Canes content, are super huge hockey fans and not at all using our team as a platform to take a cheap poke at the governor who coincidentally happens to be from the other party.

How many of them are even aware of the Hurricanes existence? Like if we went back 3 years ago and said "Hey, what's your thoughts on the Hurricanes?" what's the likelihood the first thing that enters their minds is the actual storms or U of Miami? Pretty high I'd guess.

I mean it is what it is, I'm not that concerned about the size of the crowd. These dudes won a 5 game series in an empty arena last year and were playing in mostly empty arenas until March.

So I'm gonna go the optimistic route and say who gets left out if all these forwards are healthy?

Turbo-Aho-Svech
Nin0-Tro-Necas
Foegele-Staal-McGinn
Paquette-Lorentz-Martinook

and then you have Fast and Geekie. Hard to leave Fast out of the lineup if he's healthy but hard to leave out anybody else either. The playoff version of Foegele is not somebody you want to bench. I guess maybe could sit Lorentz and have Paquette center Martinook and McGinn with Staal centering Foegele and Fast. But hell, Lorentz brings a lot too. No easy decisions.

That is tough. I think you are right that it comes down to Lorentz and Fast if all are healthy. Rod probably rotates some forwards like he did 2 years ago to keep the 4th line fresh.
