SMH, should have beseeched instead of implored.

I'm sure this won't backfire

Yeah I'm sure these reps from Alamance and Nash Counties, whose Twitter feeds include precisely zero Canes content, are super huge hockey fans and not at all using our team as a platform to take a cheap poke at the governor who coincidentally happens to be from the other party.

"Because the other team has more fans" seems like the dumbest-f*** of all dumb-f*** reasons ever to increase capacity in the midst of a global pandemic, but I guess that's just my silly brain
When your entire political viewpoint right now is denying that the pandemic actually exists, then you can understand why they think this is a super duper valid reason.

That said, if the plan is to allow it on June 1st as it is, not sure the extra week is worth the handwringing. At this point, everyone 16 and over in this area has had access to be fully vaccinated by the time Game 1 is played. If they aren't, that's on them.

Reminder: Amy Galey was the genius who issued a public request for Cooper to completely re-open Alamance County because COVID was not a serious threat in that area.

In April 2020.

I don't want these folks anywhere near PNC, regardless how many people are in the building. Pandemic or no pandemic, I wouldn't trust them to wash their hands.

First bolded statement: But it is just a plan. June 1st could roll around and the levels in the state may have started to increase, so he freezes any relaxation of the rules. The extra couple of weeks allows the data to be more conclusive on which way to go.

Second bolded statement: Not just on them if the Canes allow anyone in the building. If they allow only people with completed vaccination cards, then yeah. But they aren’t going to do that.

Paging Senator Tillis, paging Senator Tillis.
