Not that I know shit, but this was my 2nd lowest rated player picked tonight. He's not Ginning, but screams of picking for need in the same vein. When I hear "he's going to be a solid #4" I want to rip my hair out. The downside is always much lower for those types than Hockey people like to admit.

They just couldn't stomach picking another (undersized) winger.

what i've read about this guy has me thinking, wow, how was he not mocked to the Flyers constantly over the last few months? this is exactly the type of player that i would've expected them to come out of this first round with. no, that's not necessarily a good thing, but there does appear to be enough upside there that i can't really bring myself to hate the pick.

Most I’ve read talks about him needing to grow into his frame but was effective based on his cerebral play. Ie hockey iq. Played a lot of mins as a younger player and was used in tougher situations. If the iq thing is correct this could be a great pick. Much like the giroux pick that most thought was bad. Not comparing to giroux. Just both had reports of good to great iq. And the fan base wasn’t aware. Time will tell. But what I’ve read I don’t hate it it. Even though there were bigger upside players.
