Speculation: Roster/Trade Discussion Thread

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

I didn’t recognize that this is the last year before Lafreniere gets a modified NTC for the remainder of his deal. That’s interesting. Anyone have any info on the number of teams he can list?

The jackets wanting to wait to talk to Werenski about his future until after the draft tells me they are trying to do something up until the draft to convince him to stay. Maybe its trocheck and Schneider.

14, Voronkov and Smith for 26, Trocheck and Schneider?
we're not getting that return.

trocheck schneider 26

14 + elick or del bel belluz

How much would a combination of Hamilton from NJ and Boeser from Vancouver cost? Yes I know, they’re overpaid and are imperfect but I’m looking for guys who cost next to nothing but can fill a role needed.

There needs to be a roster to match that new way of thinking for it to work. The retirement of Anze Kopitar only exacerbates the team’s need for offense — and especially an upgrade at center. That’s the top priority for GM Ken Holland.

“I know Ken is talking to everyone and listening,” Robitaille said. “It seems like there’s about 15 teams looking for centers.”

He added that the team could use a little more mobility on the back end as well.

“But that being said, we have a really good set of six wingers, so we want to make sure we protect that; that’s one of our strengths,” Robitaille said. “Ken is looking to see how everything can match between now and September.”

I don’t like Dolan but how can you say this with a straight face after what Leon Rose just did. I think management is being smart showing patience for once. Let’s see how long it lasts
I can say it easily....Dolan has made no secret of his Knicks favoritism. He's also made no secret about building a Knicks champion. I don't every recall him publicly saying this about the Rangers. I also don't recall him showing up front and center when Rangers were in the Cup Finals...yet it seemed he was at every Knicks game.

Again, which one of these guys would you trade Lafreniere for right now?

Pavel Brendl
Jamie Lundmark
Al Montoya
Dan Blackburn
Kappo Kakko
Manny Malhotra
Dylan McIlrath
Lias Andersson
Vitali Kravtsov
Alexis Lafreniere

That's 30 years of NY Rangers top 10 picks. Resist the allure of the mystery box. Get more picks to increase the odds of hitting on one, but don't use long-term pieces as the currency. Trocheck is how we get another first rounder. He's a great player, and perfect for teams looking to win now, but at 33, he's not part of this team's future.
There is NO way I trade Lafreniere for Alxis Lafreniere!

Wanna put money on that?
no way to bet subjective things with strangers on the internet.

the *value* of holl buchelnikov 2026 1st and 2026 3rd - at trade time no less - is not something we're likely to agree on, let alone if there's monetary gain at stake for estimating that value to be low (in your case) and high (in mine).

Just say no and thats totally fine.

Faulk returned less than the Stramel centered BS that the Rangers passed on.

I agree that the trades that have been made today aren't really in the realm of reality of what Trocheck will return, but the teams making deals today aren't really in the position a team acquiring Trocheck would be in anyway. Different markets
