Dorofeyev was a fantastic trade by Drury as unpopular as he is around here. He gets full marks for that one.

Really shocked Werenski denied Dallas. These players are wayyy out in left field with all these trade request recently. It's pretty unfair if a player who has a NTC demands a trade. There should be a clause in the contract - trade requests are formal documents and once they're completed the NTC falls off. There is no way organizations can continue like this where their top assets demand out and the team ends up holding the bag.

For the record it has not been said Werenski asked to be traded, he only stated he had no intention to resign there after his contract ends. So it's not like he said TRADE ME and then snubbed them on Dallas. Larkin is the one who demanded a trade.

what if dallas doesnt want those guys? we can say that they make sense “value wise” but if dallas doesnt want them they dont want them. maybe drury has another trade lined up with those players for another bourque like player he likes more, like jack quinn.

Dallas needs cap space more than anything. Dont know if they are actively trying to sign Robertson.... Take on Lybushkin with Bourque. Give them a RHD which they need. We have cheap fillers that they can use.

They dont have enough cap space to sign Robertson right now if they wanted to, id consider that the genesis of trading Bourque.

Not moving laf for bourque. Like at all.
Thats one of those, forsberg for erat level moves that destroys a team.

His career CF% is 60+ - 59.4 with MTL, 60.9 with CAR. Very comparable.

And, I don't care about his numbers relative to other players on Carolina, I care about him making this NYR team better 5v5 and there's no reason to think he wouldn't be decent on a 3rd line here.

I'm not a Hurricanes fan, I'm a Rangers fan. This guy costs next to nothing, adds 5v5 depth to a team starved for it, and, if he doesn't work out, can be sent packing and still has some value.

He does suck. The conversation should begin & end with that. The only way I'd want him is as a cap dump as a part of a bigger deal. Then we can buy him out.
