Andersson is our guy

I get that he's a rightie. I'm not sure about the ask per Flames fans. And for a team that I would like to have stouter defensemen who are capable to move the puck, he's not particularly robust physically. The breakout guys are Dahlin and Power. I get that there was some push on Twatter to get Power another offenseman as a partner, but balancing takeout and breakout seems like a way to counteract Power's issues. Is Andersson that guy? Eh. I'm not sold.

Find our briere as a winger , type whoever the honorable talented lunxhpail power forward that hits Both Tuch s age and respect around the league that replaces ok and girgs but adds with them both coming out of the pressbox FULL Tilt. If we were in the playoffs a rested girgs and ok are awesome to replace injury or give 15 mins hair on fire shifts to wake up a young team down 2 to 1 in a series.
New guys that teams HATE to play AGAINST and give cover to help our guys that can score and skate and might need afresh start or aren't living up to a contract to wake up our geeks

Adams bougt himself some time w Upl ( who is also grown up tough and more of a man already than ullmark. So bravo. Just late as we froth at the mouths for the angry 16

Honestly I would love to see what this roster looked like if they had actual NHL quality coaching. Imagine if say Torts was coaching this team, we'd probably be well into a playoff position. It's so frustrating to see what obviously needs to be done knowing it has a zero percent chance of happening.
Yeah, it’s hard to get excited about any trade ideas when it’s still gonna be the same coach. Why even bother?

Even if he was, look at the contract situation. That is something I wouldn’t think Adams would even consider. He’s about to hit his huge payday.

You do realize if we got a coach like Torts or RBA that the roster would be radically different or they wouldn’t come here.

They need more fight behind the bench and in the front office too. A lack of passion and action permeates every aspect of the organization. Nothing matters and we act surprised when no one cares.

Dahlin had that fight. They seemed to have sucked that out of him.

Where did his piss and vinegar go?

There's a lot of chatter about Elias Pettersson possibly being available in the summer (might not want to stay in VAN).

Adams would have to at least make the call, right? Cozens/Thompson, Savoie, and a 1st with an extension in place?

If you truly have it, you don't ever lose it. This year he seems to be channeling it into snapping sticks and cussing himself out on the bench, instead of shoulders into opponents' solar plexuses.

To Whitney's point, he needs his teammates to draw him back into the battle and out of his head. And he doesn't really have those teammates atm.

Would be nice.

The lack of GOOD veteran support is obvious. Okposo, Skinner, and Girgensons have been passengers on the loser parade for way too long. Girgensons has been here, essentially, the whole of the drought. Okposo 7 years, Skinner 6 years. They are used to losing and accepting of it. They all have to go this summer and replaced with guys who will set the standard higher.

At. Any. Cost. Overpay in terms of draft capital, prospects, or cash. Get the 'give a f***' back in the locker room.

Yes, the youth have to come along and lead as well, but without the veteran examples of how to put in the work night in and night out, it's just been a friendship circle with the only real dividing line of 'has been paid, hasn't been paid', and the effort this year pretty much divides right on that line.

Poor messaging from the front office about how what they were doing was acceptable and to just keep doing it ('just 1% better guys!') and the lack of any real good on ice additions was the death knell and another punt of a season.

They also are a collective punch of wusses who fold up and hide when someone hits them. They need more people with a set of stones. And they have no one like that in Rochester either.

The kind of trade that wakes up a locker room is the same kind of trade that Adams would never make.

Seems that way. At this point, I suspect his plan is simply to let players roll off into free agency and keep perpetually plugging players into the middle of the lineup on ELC's rather than looking at the holes in the roster that can be filled and filling them. There are more draft picks and UDFA opportunities every year. Once a team is built, the number of players who they need to percolate up into the lineup is fairly finite yet still happens. What they have now is a fetish for prospects and talk of long-term future when the way to ensure long-term future is take what they have and push it into the playoffs with a couple astute trades.

Both Coleman and Garland were actively being shopped over the summer. In a world where someone is willing to take a chance instead of sleeping, I wonder at what the 2nd and 3rd lines look like if those two are out there, chewing on defensemen on the forecheck instead of giving Vic a gold star when he comes within 3' of his man in a puck battle.

1st, Savoie, what else?

I don't know. If Savoie had had a Jordan Eberle/Max Comtois U20's where he is on the mind of TSN's talking heads all the time, and with the season he's having in the WHL, he's an easy piece to like. But since he isn't because he didn't, that he's churning along mostly without ESTOI with the Firkus and Yager tandem and is carrying his own line isn't going to make anyone's mouth water.

The 1st rounder I would put in with a top 3 protection. Maybe even a 1OA protection. The drop from Celebrini into that 2nd tier is enough for me to think being bold to include it is even a worry.

Anything in that deal would likely be something that we all think sucks to see happen. That said, they've lost enough, it's time to start making a team that can play like men instead of boys.
