so.....any thoughts on what this means re: cuts?
are they gonna cut weal, andreoff, oneill and loverde/mcbain?
I think the picture has established itself pretty well at this point but the wildcard is Mersch.
Will be cool to see Forbort in bigger minutes tonight with Doughty!
I agree. He's come a long way, and he's certainly at that point of getting the coffee treatment. By #7 though, they don't need to sit him in the press box and they shouldn't. Have him leap frog over the whoever press box dude from Ontario. He needs good minutes this year as well. And he doesn't have to clear.I think that Forbort has proven himself ready to play at the NHL level. Get him in one out of every two or three games while we get his feet wet and keep him around as our #7. I know that I am dreaming because there isn't any way in hell that DS would play a kid over a vet on D unless he had to which is fine but Forbort is ready none the less.

I think Weal has already made it. In a perfect world they go with Weal & Shore as the 3rd & 4th line centers, but like some have said, Shore doesn't need to clear waivers and Andreoff does.
is there somewhere we can find out points-wise who put up the most points out of weal, shore, mersch, oneill and andreoff in the pre-season?
i think weal, shore and mersch all have 2 goals each
o'neill and andreoff one goal each
but with assists i am not sure
also weal, andreoff and shore - how have their percentages been in the face-off circle i wonder?
i could see them keeping shore; the organization seems quite high on him.
Coming in the the past few season I have really hoped to see a step up from Cliff.
I missed the beginning of his carrier here, but have often heard others say that we have kind of always been waiting for that step. I was starting to doubt... but the past few season it has been clear, at least to me, that Cliff wants to be more finesse, to be more well rounded then just an enforcer/energy guy. The past few seasons I think if you have been watching you have seen him TRY to make more moves... but maybe the skill wasn't quite there.
I'm thinking this long offseason has been better to him then anyone else, and has given him time to work more on what he can do with the puck.
Very impressed with what he has done this preseason... Hell since he re-upped his contract (don't know that that is related... just a good reference when I really started to notice him putting in more). Really hope for a big season for him.
Clifford always has really good starts and preseasons. I think a few years ago he was near the top of scoring for the team for the first couple weeks. He always seems to taper off around game 20 for some reason.
It's not conditioning, the guy is in great shape. It would be great if it's a confidence thing, because he's looking solid out on the ice. He's been here for quite a while now and probably feels like a vet, which could do wonders.
I'm hoping for 20+ from him, I think this is the year he will finally do it.
I hope you're right, but I highly doubt it. Better chance of Kopi scoring 50 goals than Clifford scoring 20+. I do think that our 4th line will be a lot more productive than it had been in the past.
Goals? I meant points. I would be overjoyed if he got 10 goals.
