Their problems are stupid contracts, exactly what people here are warning Buffalo not to do with Lehner despite 'stats'.

No no no.

A 3yr/$12m contract is not stupid.

1) if he falls off a cliff in 1-2 years then the contract is tradable.

2) if Ullmark, Johansson or Peterson come in and play better then the contract can again be traded, or he can sit the bench.

3) As much flack as Murray got for the trade, his reasoning was actually pretty understandable. Goalies peak in the 26-28 year old range... guess what range he'd be signed through on a 3 year deal?

You don't get worse at a position just cause. A three year deal at $4m/ yr will not prevent the Sabres from signing Reinhart, Eichel, or FAs.

Jeff Patterson who is well connected w. Canucks was on TSN1040 and he said that the Canucks arent interested in trading Tanev for draft picks but rather they want a young stud centre. Names he mentioned was Sam Reinhart , Sam Bennet , Dylan Strome.

There seems to be alot of smoke and interest w Tanev. Im almost certain he will be traded.

They have two good defenseman, both of whom are aging rapidly, no center depth, and Price is overrated af.

This deal ****ing sucks for the Habs unless Drouin is the significantly better player.
