I hate this move for so many reasons. I don't care about politics when it comes to sports, you are here to do a job and every sports franchise has a mix of political views on the team. Do your job and help us win. Guys who might hate each other politically work together to win a cup. That's how it works.

But Tony D'Angelo has shown to be a f***ing cancer at every stop he's been. He's been booted off teams for being such an insufferable prick that it wasn't worth having him on the roster. He's not particularly good as an NHL defensemen.

And Lou brought him here in a desperation move. Such a f'n waste.

Didn't Jordan (brother of Utah's Nick) play in BPort for a bit?

DeAngelo signing

What it likely means: Dobson is out for good long while.

The upside: He can't really do anything but play on the PP. That's the one thing we've been most miserable at.

What was likely the thought behind this signing: It's a minimal cost signing for a player who will hopefully come in and spend 4-5 weeks making the PP better and collect a few points. Then he can be dished off for a midrounder at the trade deadline.

I somehow don't think we'll hear about on-ice or locker room problems. He'd have to be REALLY off his rocker to come in here and make any kind of waves.

This is a desperation type of opportunity for him. Hope he knows that 110%.

DeAngelo at the point on the power play is a lot easier to stomach than Grant Hutton or Adam Pelech.

Not sure I believe all the media reports on TDA but if isles room is as good as everyone makes it out to be this shouldn’t be a problem. It doesn’t work out back to the waiver wire

That's just not true. He was loved in the Carolina locker room and many players have come out saying that.

He played extremely well in the KHL and it's not like our defense has been our strength this season. He's still only 29. He has had some rougher seasons, but he had some good ones as well. It's the best available option and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

I didn't read through this thread so not sure if it went Reddit levels of hatred for the guy. HF Boards seems to follow some of that though with hating a dude, especially if it's off ice stuff. But I don't really care who he voted for, if he calls sauce gravy, or he's married to a one eyed pirate. You're brought in to help the team win and I think based off this recent KHL stint he can help this team.

I like the move. The Isles haven't had a real puck moving defensemen in a while. I also like
the emotions DeAngelo brings to the team. The Isles are such a vanilla team to watch, it's really frustrating and at times, boring. He'll definitely improve the power play!

Do we really want them to improve from the 25th best team in the league to the 16-18th best team?

I think no matter what Lou is giving them until the deadline.

My stance is we sell no matter what because this team hasn't rallied together but I don't think Lou wants injuries to be the reason they sell off. His best quality is icing a competitive team. But that could be the worst thing for us. Even if after all is said and done, we're seven points out by the deadline I'm praying we sell.
