I seem to remember Eiserman entering his draft year as a concensus Top 3 pick.

Right now, Hagens has 6-19-25 and +6 in 21 NCAA games. He had 9 points in 7 WJC contests. He first turns 19 in November.

And you're right, he has dropped from that "surefire 1st overall" to "one of the top 4-5", with most now fawning over Schaefer.

That drop is not of Hagens doing.
I agree. But I don't think it's one of the 4 or 5, I think it's really about Hagens and Schaefer. Putting aside bias, I think it is overwhelmingly likely that Schaefer goes 1st. His skating is top notch, he's got really great anticipation, he's creative, and he's explosive. Factor in size (Schaefer really needs meat on those bones, but he'll be scary once he has it), and imo it's not that hard a choice. I think Hagens is second even if Martone, Misa, etc. are more impressive physically. Because he's so smarter than those guys.

I’d put Misa right up there with Schaefer and Hagens. He is having an excellent season. I can’t believe they left him off the wjc team. If we walk away with any one of those 3 I will be very happy.

The team has signaled to sell. 28th in the league and by far dead last in the conference in GF? Are you shitting me???

Haven’t been paying much attention to how the draft lottery works but apparently there are two draws, one for the first pick and another for the second? Sure.

With Ottawa really coming on - I wonder if JGP back to Ottawa could be something that happens.
Amadio would have to come back the other way and maybe Isles grab a pick in that exchange.

Ottawa would need some $ retained (.500K), but maybe that is a non-factor come March with someone going on LTIR or according to Puckpedia they have some cap savings banked from earlier in the year.

Something like-
JGP and 4th round pick in 2025 for Amadio and 2nd round in 2025

A loss to Columbus makes that a 4 point swing - Isles win they are 6 points behind with a game in hand. If they lose, they would be 10 points out with a game in hand.

If they cannot show up (at home) for this game, it is surely the signal Lou needs.

Why not just hold onto Pageau until next deadline. Realistically this team is not competing. Hopefully Pageau can have a good season next year and get a better return.

Pageau will not get moved until next deadline, unless some team comes in with a stupid offer. Rarely do you see players with term (albeit only a year) get moved for picks and prospects.

He's aging by the minute. He's playing as well right now as he ever will. Verdict: Trade Pags now.
He is 32, not that old. Unless a team comes with a good offer I don’t see why there is any rush to trade him. It’s not like you are getting a 1st round pick for him. Maybe next deadline you get a 2nd and a 5th, but you aren’t getting that right now without retention.

We’re contending (for something)!

Historically low PP and PK numbers - On a team that's going to have it's worst finish since the wang/snow/capuano years....

And some Isles fans want to promote Roy to GM.

Based on what exactly? Not knowing who other GM candidates might be? I hope it's that because he doesn't deserve to be GM based on any metric.

I swear if Roy was still coaching in the minors not one Islander fan would be saying a think about him being the next GM. I guess part of it is simply "the devil you know" mentality. It's certainly not because he's good at his current job.
