Probably the ultimate Lou move would honestly be to trade for Brayden Schenn and try and squeak back into that 8 spot
I'm not going to do this whole thing with you again because you're clearly not interested in reality, but if you're open to the possibility of being incorrect you should look up Horvat's numbers when he's not playing with Barzal because they are (to put it lightly) absolute dogshit lmaoEven worse, you have a $9.15M ‘center’ that can’t play his position bc he is atrocious at faceoffs, can’t make anyone better on the team, and ‘runs’ an ongoing league worst power play.
You ain’t winning anything other than lotto balls with Barzal as a core player.
I'd rather deal him for a first, end up with the #7 pick and use the Palmieri pick to move up lololat this point, I'd be fine with this. I'd rather make the playoffs and end up with the 17th pick than miss the playoffs and get the 16th pick.

Trading for superstar forwards ain’t easy for 90% of the teams in the league.Every cup winning team had a superstar forward. You can add Barzal to every team that won the cup and they would still win the cup, the problem is Lou has failed to get a superstar to adequately slot Barzal down the lineup.
Barzal and Horvat are both good players, but not players you build your offense around. They are ideally leading a good 2nd line.
Carolina has an owner who sabotages his GM. People don’t want to deal with Dundon. He’s as bad as Eugene Melnyk. Are they trying to win? Or just remake their roster because Necas, Ratanen, and Guentzel didn’t want Dundon’s money?
They look like they are playing asset protection and scrambling to come out of the position they put themselves in.
If you are Carolina, might want to trade for signed players. It’s clear evidence that people give Lou crap, but he resigns UfAshe trades for otherwise he ain’t making the deal. Carolina gets burned on it.
Probably worse in the grand scheme of things.Carolina has an owner who sabotages his GM. People don’t want to deal with Dundon. He’s as bad as Eugene Melnyk.
Updating my username after Lou ensures the Islanders are going to be a bad team for the foreseeable future with no hope of getting better
I think the idea is just to tank next season and get a top pick, so you wouldn't be looking to replace his goals.I know keeping Palmeri is an unpopular decision, but if you do trade him, who replaces his goals next year. Is there a free agent Isles could bring in that would do what he does?
Honest question I’m still torn on him being resigned. It does feel like a half measure following the Nelson deal.

With Barzal, Horvat, Sorokin, and Dobson I can’t see a tank in the works.I think the idea is just to tank next season and get a top pick, so you wouldn't be looking to replace his goals.
The team stunk this season as is and will be entering next season without the #2 center who was here for about a decade. The goal for next season is to be better.
Did the site just break? Formatting all of a sudden all messed up.
You trade him now, get the assets, then focus on trading for those 20 goals on draft day.I know keeping Palmeri is an unpopular decision, but if you do trade him, who replaces his goals next year. Is there a free agent Isles could bring in that would do what he does?

All those players have been here for the past three years and the team's barely been mediocre. With Barzal, Horvat, Sorokin, and Dobson I can’t see a tank in the works.
