Duclair to Tampa for basically only a third rounder….

That’s a good deal for Tampa…

Looking over the “trade watch” lists, here are the names that pop out to me;

-Pacioretty
-Barabanov
-Zucker

And maybe even Foegele. He’s in the last year of his contract and perhaps they could even pull in a pick or 2 if they took him on from EDM as a cap dump. Crazier things have happened.

I think they have at least one more move in them. I’d like to see two more - one more top 9 forward, preferably a C but there aren’t any available so take what you can get and a defensively responsible D, I think they need at least one more D option. I don’t like them relying on Coghlan, DeAngelo or Smith if one of the top 6 go down.

We should avoid Barabanov. Zucker sounds Vancouver bound.

Patches makes sense if he wants to come back

Guentzel was cap-neutral due to retention with Bunting going to Pittsburgh, so still have a good bit of space to make a move to add say a C if one that we're interested in is available. About 5.8M according to Capfriendly.
Coconut ++ for Crosby.

So I read that with the 25% retain, Guentzel has the same cap hit the rest of the way that Bunting had.

There's plenty of room for us to take another swing if we want
That has to be the plan.

Raanta is on waivers non-roster ……what does that mean?
Maybe he got tired of DW's shit and asked for a contract termination so he could find a good opportunity for himself. At this point in the season, he's not giving up too much money to just walk away and spend the rest of the season with his kids instead of playing in Chicago. He can do the math and see he is fourth on the depth chart now and won't be sniffing playing time the rest of the way.
