We've had talks of teams trading for him for over 2 years now. No deal has been done. Seems pretty clear no team values him high enough to offer something substantial for him because if they did he'd have been traded at some point since then.

I think the fact that we on HF have been discussing it doesn't mean the Rangers have been keen to trade him. I'm sure they have been listening but they may not have been actively shopping him, perhaps hedging against Shesterkin. In saying that, this years deadline seems to be the last opportunity to make a move.

Looks like Forsberg will get the Mark Stone treatment. A team that trades for him is probably going to want to re-sign him, if not right away then definitely leading up to July 1st. There's zero chance of fitting him in here after this season. Just not worth the bidding war and the assets that Nashville is going to demand (and most likely get.) Sit this one out and just trade for Rakell.
You live here and have watched him play. He’s not a difference maker enough to warrant the trade or trade he $9,000,000 he wants.

Suzuki has come alive. Their 2 youngs guns.

Imagine if our 2 young guns came alive... We'd be a force... I'll settle for some consistent and decent 5v5 play

The Habs kids came alive because the context around them changed for the better (management/coaches/approach). I just hate this 'bootstrapping' nonsense that kids have to 'grab the opportunity when they get it'. I don't think it works like that, especially for the top talents. They perform when they are free to do so, and have the support to do so. MSL, instead of putting the kids at the back of the queue, like Ducharme/Quinn, or jamming them in where there is a hole even if the fit is wonky, is letting them free WITH his full support. He is building them up.

We all know the Rangers are doing ok in the standings, and that grinding out wins using "Quinn hockey" (whatever that is, seems to be BFF hockey) > development (Gallant admitted to this), As long as that is the case, and the BFF's are in charge of the team, we along with the kids will have to wait for better days. In the meantime the kids are working hard at rounding out their games. (Not sure what Chytil is doing tho).

just wondering....have you seen him play?

He had some injuries in the past, yes I have seen him and watching games not just highlights. I watch as much hockey as I can.. He has proven he can be a 3rd liner on a bad Coyotes team. He is worth the risk, he goes to the net hard on his goals.

thanks....not familiar with his game, so I was wondering his style of play and what he does well

He goes to the net. Those that of players are needed in the playoffs. He would be a great under the radar get at the deadline. Low risk high reward. Maybe he can flourish like Brassard did when he came to NYR. If I am Drury he is one player I try to target.

Russ Cohen on NHL radio saying only untouchables are Laf, Schneider, Othmann.
Also says he thinks they will trade Kravtsov (chiarot/Hertl).
Also the obvious possibility of Nils being traded.
Also mentions Jones.

Igor isn't untouchable?

Also, who is Russ Cohen?

I think he meant the younger under 21 year old type assets like Kakko, Laf, Schneider, Robertson, Othmann, Jones.
Not guys like Fox, Igor, Lindgren, etc. (would assume KAM is part of those guys even if he super young).

Smith is also injured.

I don't root for guys to get hurt, but I don't mind to see this asshole miss some games on the team in first in our division. He's been big for them and it would be great to pick up a few points while he's out.

If the Rangers trade for Chiarot, let alone give up Kravtsov for him, I'd lose all trust in management.

If the front office watched 50+ games of NYR hockey and think we need a stiff like Chiarot, they're braindead. We already committed to a stiff for 3 years 7.5M. What are we doing with another one?
