Why does everyone wanna get rid of Fast? It's not his fault our rw depth isnt up to par. He is fine as a 3rd/4th liner, and he would max out as a 3rd round pick as a return.

He killed my father.

But seriously, very few people want to "get rid" of Fast. It's just about getting all of the pieces to fit together, and he's probably going to be too expensive to be a 3rd or 4th line guy on a team that needs cap flexibility next season.

I dont think anyone "wants to get rid of him". It's more about the question of if you're giving him a 3/4 year extension at above a 3AVV....I love what Jesper brings but I'm not in love with paying open market prices for bottom 6 pieces.

This should also be a warning to Lemiuex, Howden, Kakko, etc. If you thought that you'd be getting more ice once Kreider and Fast are moved, you're mistaken. Going to have to earn those minutes. I'm sure Gauthier is going to come in hungry to earn that time like Lemiuex was last season coming here. Build that competition among these guys.

Same for Kravtsov. If he thought he would get the recall after the deadline, don't just assume you'll be here.

Was anyone expecting Fast to return more than a second?

That's a lot for renting a 3rd line winger, valuable as he is.

i just want a third rounder. How has that not happened yet?

A third rounder from a contending team is likely #80-96 in the draft. I think he's proven to be worth more than a single 3rd round pick. We don't have a 2nd in 2020. I would want a 2nd. I actually think Gorton could likely get a B prospect + a 2nd or 3rd.

we literally just turned the third round pick from Holden to the Bruins into Julien Gauthier. So there’s value in every pick if u do well with it. We do better in the third round than we do in the 2nd

rather go after Beecher from Bruins or someone with more potential and size especially when Rangers trade one of their bigger physical players. Id take a chance on Kaut but prefer a Kreider replacement at least with size skill that can play top 6
Exactly. Beecher would much smarter target than Jost or Kaut for that matter who can probably be had without trading Kreider. Perhaps Strome.

If Buch is going to the AVs, I want Newhook coming back. I'm sure some people would say that's unrealistic, but Buch is a cost controlled top 6 player who is only 24 years old.
I would think Kreider would have to be involved if Newhook were on the table. If its Buch then its probably Kaut and a pick

Matt Robertson and Karl Henriksson are disappointed in you.

Used our 2nd to trade up for Miller. Robertson and Henriksson. Adam Fox.

Our 2nd has helped net some good players

If there's a chance that Florida makes a push for Kreider, I would want trade with them. Their top forward prospects -- Denisenko, Noel, Tippett are players I might prefer over Kaut or Beecher.
