Gotta figure we'll know soon who we lose at this rate. I think I'm rooting for them to take Goat. Blackwell isnt great but he's a useful player.
I absolutely do, but you are acting like every team has the same internal cap structure and cap strategy, but the news flash is that they dont. Some teams have shown they are willing to pay ufa style contracts to players on second contracts so they can strategically get those players to sign their third contract earlier and if they pay the third contract they pay big money for more prime years rather than 30+ years. Other teams have traditionally gone the bridge deal route. The Rangers have very consistently gone the bridge route with few exceptions. Fox MIGHT get a longer deal than a typical bridge, but NYR literally cant give out the fat 2nd contracts to all their guys bc it would complete defeat the purpose of why they went all in on young talent instead of predominantly signing ufas. NYR has ALWAYS used a players rfa status to the team advantage in negotiations and there is NOTHING that signals that this organization is going to start following the Leafs' model. If anything, paying a ufa bottom 6 players a big (and fair) contract signals they will continue to bridge most of their rfas bc they wont have room for bigger long term second deals for all their elite kids...you really don’t get it.
If I’m Seattle, I take Deangelo over those two.Lol so? Its blackwell who is nice but shouldnt be getting time over any one in our top 9.. Or Gauthier who doesnt have a spot in the lineup. We legit lose nothing.
Gourde too.So, now we know three choices:
Larssen
Oleksiak
Fleury
Unlikely they get a player better than Dunn in return for Tara, even if they retain salary. Plus, the cap will be a factor for them from the get-go.Not too surprised they chose Dunn.
It's made a spectacle, what'd you expect? We are the 1% of the hockey community.Gourde too.
As predicted, the whole list will be out before the show starts.
What I was about to ask... Is he the only one working? When did Seravalli become Bob McKenzie?
he sucks. Shell of his former self and a loser to boot. Boston is going nowhere with him (except maybe a lottery win). 6 mil is the most anyone should pay for him and tbh that is still too much.Hall won a Hart Trophy not that long ago.
I'm not saying I would give it to him, but $6m is nothing for him.
I get that, just think it's hilarious reading a tweet like "The NHL is really gonna be clamping down on this" and here we got old ass Seravalli tweeting out the entire roster at 11 AM day of.It's made a spectacle, what'd you expect? We are the 1% of the hockey community.
I knew we won the lotto with Kakko before it was televised.
I think their plan is to load up on defense, similar to Vegas, and trade them to recoup some more assets. It’s basically free money for them since they already know teams are interested in these guysWonder if Seattle flips Dunn to us
it was it was 100% a rebuild. They literally rebuilt their entire roster. How many players are left over from that 2017 playoff team? Not many. We’ll see if the Rangers stick with a rebuild or this was just a retool. Resigning Buch after resigning Kreider and likely having to resign Zibby tells me a Fox, Laf or Kakko will be lost along with many other kids.
The foundation is supposed to be Laf, Kakko, Fox and Shes and hopefully the Rangers can navigate keeping others. No way the pre-rebuild roster spots all get these third contracts.
I’m still amazed that some of y’all are so willing to put us into immediate cap hill by committing more long-term money to players going into their 30s. Having more than $15M allocated to these guys (if we sign Coleman) is going to kill us later.
There are other ways to improve both short-and long-term. You can’t build through free agency.
lol Habs fans thought they were getting out of that contract for free. RIP. Seattle would have been absolutely braindead to draft Price.Shocked that a 10.5 million dollar goalie who is overrated as all f*** and has injury issues wasn't taken by Seattle.
The Canadian media did a great job drumming up drama when there was none to begin with. Seattle was never taking him.
