All while making dinner, bathing the kids, then changing the oil in his beige Camry.

Sheet rocking the basement while trade talks with Adams tomm.

Flying to Guam Sunday night to talk to a potential 4th rounder we just landed. Rickshaw personally ordered.

Urinal cakes personally ordered.

Hand Painting Igors mask on Monday.
I like this because it appeals to my manic sensibilities, it all makes sense

I'm worried about overpaying Goodrow as well. Signings like this rarely are a boon for the team who signs this type of player. He was a third wheel on a line with two top-6 forwards.

Anything approaching 3M or more is a mistake.

No one from there has proven to have any credibility.

A podcast that has been desperately trying to build a following for years now saying something boisterous while also giving as little information as possible should only draw conclusions that they still have absolutely nothing to work with, rather than actually giving it any credence. Nothing adds up there.

They used to be with the Athletic. It’s not possible they know someone through there?

Based on the stories that they have broke? Based on the fact that they "used to be" with a credible affiliation? Or is this based on the fact that they are angrilly bitching about getting a twitter verification in order to even have the gall to just report a rumor lmao

They have no reason to be given any benefit of the doubt, much like any blogger with basically no credit

I live in a world where Carey Price is being unprotected in favor of Jake Allen and the odds on bet to not be picked, but he is also annointed as a living God amongst boy-goalies who is a lock for the HoF with his sub-Lundqvist career. I'm just happy TB beat the Isles so wasn't forced to pick in that abomination of a final.

Doesn't sound plausible to me but I love my Rumorz

Makes sense cause they talked about that on the podcast that they don’t like Horvat. Compared him to a younger but worse Strome.

I wouldn’t love that either but at least their heads are in the right place that Buch has to be moved for a young center.

Why are people worried about overpaying Goodrow? Every good team overpays a few players at some point. It balances out when you have good contracts on the books. Bottom line, we need a player like Goodrow, and we are a better team after we sign him. Do I want him to sign for a reasonable contract? Of course. But it's not something to be seriously concerned about if the contract is bloated.

Ever since chaos week, we knew they were going to overpay for a guy who brings #therightthings. Could be worse guys to do it on and hope it's contained to that one.

I’m very happy with the Goodrow acquisition, but this team already has its share of bad contracts. Can’t really afford another one.

Italian food in Arkansas sounds like a terrible option, unless you're dieting & don't plan on eating much.

Ordered from a chain restaurant. Local places scare the hell out of me. They think catfish is a garnish. They put it on/in EVERYTHING. I came so close in two faculty searches to getting back to NY. Really hoping something comes through this year, as I don't know if I can take down south living much longer (especially working at a state school where we're getting all the political directives on what we can and can't teach).

Let's say it's 6 years x 3.25 as some are speculating. Even if Goodrow is only effective for the first 3 years, then starts to regress, that contract isn't a boat anchor or unmovable with some retention. There's plenty of ways to get out of the last two years when the cap hopefully starts rising again by year 4.

The guy is now a 2 time cup winner who will hopefully provide valuable leadership to some of the young guys. Plays with an edge & can move up & down the lineup...I don't see how anyone can squawk at this move.

This team doesn't really have that many bad contracts. We have contracts that may turn bad in a few years but not a single one of our "bad" contracts is significantly under performing for their cap hit.
Trouba is not an 8m defenseman but his play last year was probably more in the 6m range but he also helped stabilize our 2nd pair, and also help miller's development by giving him a solid partner. Trouba's NMC opens up right around the time when cap goes up, and a defenseman with term is movable.
Ck's contract might be an issue in a few years but even then it'll likely be movable.

My head spins everytime I try to figure out what the lines might be. There are SO many pieces still in motion that any move/signing could totally change depending on who is still here next year. I don't really think we have ANY bad contracts though. Kreider's will be bad based on his usage (3rd line LW) eventually, but it isn't there yet. I tend to think Trouba offers far more than he's given credit for on these boards, so I'm not overly fussed about his contract either. That said, it's always a good idea to be careful. Just because we've cleared out the old bad contracts doesn't mean we need to add new ones, haha.
