Gaborik despised playing for Torts, that's why he agreed to be traded to Columbus so he could get away from him.

Sure. But Gaborik had a NTC. Panarin has a full NMC. It's entirely up to him, and I'd be shocked if he waived unless he really got frustrated.

I always figured Panarin would be here until the end of his contract, which, depending on how these next three seasons go, could in theory be here longer than Gallant is.

Buchnevich has a concussion. He has been placed in concussion protocol. He will have to wait until next season to extract his revenge on the Rangers over the 35 second video.

Yeah I got you, I'm just saying it got to a breaking point for Gaborik, so much so that he agreed to get traded to from a playoff team to a non-playoff team. But that probably had more to do with Tort's abrasiveness at the end of the day. Gabby even threw shade on him on twitter after he was fired by the Rangers I remember.

As to your second point, Gallant has a shelf life of a bout 2 1/2 years per job so that will probably be the case.

Goddamn did I love Marian Gaborik on this team. One of my favorite modern day Rangers and the best free agent signing of the Sather era, maybe one of the best ever for the Rangers as a franchise.

Larry really does have you guys wrapped around his finger. No wonder they have a subscription service he writes for too, might as well not just get clicks, get subs too.

Panarin is playing with Strome, who can't score on empty nets and Dryden Hunt who can't score period.

We complained about Fast on RW with those two. We complained about Blackwell on a line with those two. Both players are legit hockey players. Fast and Blackwell are good 3rd line NHL players. They bring something to the table. They read the play, have just enough skill to roll with good players, and do the dirty work.

Blackwell even did well with Zibanejad last season. So did Fast. When Zibby broke out, he had Zuccarello and Fast on his line.

Dryden Hunt couldn't shine those dudes skates. He's a spare forward. Barely an NHLer. It took 30 games to score playing almost exclusively with Panarin at ES. Check his game logs. Lots of zeros and lots of ice time. The only thing I will say is that Hunt does hustle. He's doing what he can do, and that is all you can ask.

It is on management to address this. It should also be on Gallant to get him off the line. Do something different. It's not like the bottom 6 is so set in stone. That line was good with Goodrow because he can actually play. He's played with good players in Tampa and knows how to read the game.

This is not a Panarin issue. This is an issue with who he is with. Strome can only do so much too when you've got just a guy on RW.

I like Hunt. I liked the signing. I liked that he was mixing in preseason on the 4th line. It's the spot he belongs in when he comes into the lineup, not even his permanent spot. He's in over his head as the 2RW.

Panarin gets a legit NHL RW on his line, he'll start producing. Last player I worry about. He's carrying a line with a middle 6 center and a 13th forward. The fact he can do anything means he's a stud.

While true, Gaborik had to waive to go to Columbus. But Panarin isn't going anywhere anytime soon, Gallant would leave before him.

Bingo. Drury is waiting until the last minute to make deals, because he can, but that leads to some criticism of Panarin/Fox/Gallant. Look at what they are working with in the bottom 6 and Panarin's right wing, its a disaster. Thinking that any of the stars or coaching staff are the big problem with this team is really missing the point. Get better players in the bottom, team overall plays better. This is apparently rocket science.

Panarin is 16th in nhl points with no RW

Besides that take by Brooksie appearing pretty boneless at the moment, is there even a point of discussing the idea of moving Panarin?

His contract has a full NMC, is heavily structured with signing bonuses, and obviously is the second most expensive deal in hockey. What team and owner has the assets/space for him, money to pay him, and is a destination where he’d accept a trade? It doesn’t seem realistic for the next couple of years
When has any of that stopped pages of breathless speculation and proposals here?

Who complained about Fast on that line? Blackwell, yes. But that was less about Blackwell and more about what looked to be a missed opportunity to develop Laf and Kakko during a rebuilding year.

Or just have some patience and allow these kids on our defense who are all 24yo or younger to develop and become the players they are meant to be.

I’m not saying trade Miller and Schneider. I’m saying add to that core to give us the ability to give them a little less responsibility and us more depth. Also, although I don’t see us winning the cup this year, our chances skyrocket my letting them play a bit lower. Miller doesn’t need 22 minutes a game to develop. 15 is plenty. Same with some of our forwards.

So are there still people on the Hertl train? If SJ doesn’t re-sign him, obviously? He won’t cost as much as Miller, but this is where I don’t understand the ones that want him but won’t go all in on Miller. Miller is definitely better than Hertl, and you also won’t have to worry about his knees going at any moment.

Zuccarello is rejuvenated playing with Kaprizov (that guy drives the play by himself).

Fiala and Boldy are terrific together. I wish our young players looked as good as Boldy. We don't have a guy like Fiala either.

Those two lines don't need a center.

Greenway-Eriksson Ek-Foligno. The Rangers don't have a 3rd line.

The Rangers are a hodge podge.
