If you truly saw nothing wrong with the situation, it wouldn't bother you at all that other people complain.
That isn't how it works lol it is just some people having fun and enjoying the team. Complaining over and over can be called annoying. Get over it

Your comment is just some arrogant backhanded way of saying "if you wanna keep your head in the sand then you should be blissfully ignorant anyway"

It is such an elitist and stupid response

It is very possible for people to understand the analytics, be knowledgeable about the team and league, still enjoy just watching the sport and team that they love, and get annoyed by the same incessant whiners filling up each thread of a forum that they like with the same angsty drivel over and over

Saying analytics ruins your enjoyment of the Rangers is like saying the weatherman ruined your house when a hurricane floods it.

Analytics aren't gospel to me so I have enjoyed this season very much so far. Weren't you having an existential crisis in the PGT after the Seattle game saying the you hope they don't make the playoffs because you don't enjoy watching how they play? Pot meet kettle

Same as being upset with a sunny day late in February because it doesn’t guarantee it will be sunny again on the same day next year

From a paywalled ESPN article on whether the Rangers are contenders or not:
"Do the Rangers play better when Shesterkin is in net because they have confidence in their goalie? Or is it Shesterkin actually making New York appear better as a team than it really is?
The general consensus is that the truth about the Rangers probably falls somewhere in the middle.
"Put it this way," one scout said. "I believe the Rangers can go as far as Shesterkin can take them."
Others were a little more direct in their feelings on the Rangers.
We asked one NHL executive whether the Rangers are "just" Igor Shesterkin.
"Yes," they said.
Is there anything else to New York's success?
"No," they said. "They're not very good."

Norris winner, leagues leading goalscorer, Panarin, Zibanejad, etc. Not a shock that Wyshnyski wrote this and got a quote from Lamoriello

Say what you want but I could care less about analytics or “fancy stats” or whatever the shit is called. Personally I think it’s mostly a group of people who’ve never played the game or know the ins and outs and just pleasure themselves to pie charts all day. Hockey is a lightning fast sport, this isn’t baseball, there’s so many moving variables. I’ve asked professional hockey coaches and players their opinions about advanced stats and nobody cared. It’s the know nothing nerds like Adam Pee Wee Herman that ruin people’s enjoyment of the sport. But then again, what would I know? My expected quality posts per 60 is low so.

Wait, this is exactly what I mean with this analogy. You're not enjoying the season because you ignore analytics, that doesn't make any sense. You're enjoying the season because you're enjoying the season. You're fundamentally fine with the way they play and it doesn't matter if somebody shows you a chart about it. So it has nothing to do with analytics.

I don't even talk about analytics. I haven't posted a chart that wasn't part of a joke in months. "Analytics" has become code for "anybody who's not having as much fun as I am is wrong."

I do find it exhausting seeing people here apparently now actively root against the team.

I’ve always avoided this place after a loss, it’s now looking like I’m gonna have to try to avoid it after a win, which is pretty sad I guess.

The team sucks 5 on 5. It has been made abundantly clear every night since the season started. After 5 years of rebuilding I’m just finding ways to enjoy the wins while they’re coming.

Life’s short. There’s more to it than the Rangers sucking 5 on 5.

Last time I went golfing the weatherman said it wasn’t gonna rain. It was a monsoon. f*** that weatherman right in his ear!

having 1 of Jack Hughes or Byfield instead of kakko or LaF would have went a long long way for the structure of this team.....
At that point, Buch is likely given that deal he signed with the blues here.
Or even if the order was reversed and the rangers wound up with Hughes and Byfield, they would have likely still been better off.
I think LaF is going to be a damn good player, but the amount of assets were going to have to deal for a young C isn’t going to be pretty....
I know I wasn’t the only one hoping the devils opted for kakko. I’m sure Jack Hughes would have loved to be NYR bound with what we had in place.
Adding a young electric PPG center whose going to be a legit star for many years to come would have been amazing....
I like kakko, but he’s doesn’t have Hughes vision, puck control, or edge work.
Hughes is going to be a legit game breaker on offense, you could tell even by his limited showing last season before injuries...
Losing out on him was another huge blow, like losing out on Crosby...
not comparing Hughes to Crosby, but that’s how important he would have been to this team.
A legit American stud, in NY/MSG...... that’s a marketing wet dream

I wonder if they would have opened up a spot for Hughes by not signing Strome to that two year extension. If they STILL would have signed him to that extension, I wonder whether Hughes would have received the minutes he needed to become what he is now. It's tough.

Agreed 100%

I dont discount advance stats totally, but they are a minor attribute. They cannot account for shift by shift, period by period momentum, line chemistry, in game video analysis that leads to tactical approach, etc ...

Hockey is way too fluid and random to predict. That's the beauty of it.

If we see Chytl is worthless I’m not expecting much from any gm.

I'm not sure why half of the board sees him as worthless. He was progressing really well with absurdly low usage until this year, where there's clearly a mental block (drastic drop in his shooting percentage). We've got a hole at RW in the top six. He played well there just last month. We will likely have a gaping hole at 2c next year. While he's not ideal, he's the best internal option the team has. We have 8 million 3rd and 4th liners. So the solution is to trade Chytil for another one? If Lehkonen's price tag goes above a 2nd round pick, move along.

The Staple pod is really just naming the same ten guys talked about here.

Says a lot is tied to Strome, says he would think if they got Hertl they would want to re-sign him. He threw out a first and either Nils or Jones as the cost for Hertl.
