Don't know about Boyle, he is good infront of the net on the PP and can create some space around the boards 5 on 5. But does he really make the players around him better? Think I rather have Carl Hagelin.

Kreider and Zibanejad together MIGHT but probably wouldn't get you 3rd overall in any draft.
I disagree, but you're entitled to you opinion.

Most teams bad enough to draft 3rd overall probably aren't in a position to be trading away youth though. But, that's the beauty of the Colorado situation. They're in position where they might entertain such an idea. Kreider and Zibanejad are better players now, and likely for the next 2-3 years, than the 2019 3rd overall pick will be. It's going to get difficult to keep their roster together once everyone starts coming up for a new contract.

Buffalo is another team that might entertain moving a lottery pick.

I think you need a team in the right situation to do it, but I think the value is there. Schneider returned the 10th OA. Stepan returned a package including the 7th OA. It's not without precedent.

Disagree here. Still a real possibility for that pick to bust. To get two high end forwards in their 20s both on great contracts, I would think so. Stepan pretty much got 7th by himself.
Not saying you are pushing this forward, but that is not a trade that can be made. Two legit top line forwards for a friggin' draft pick? I cannot understand how anyone can be serious about this. Even if you have seen the future and KNOW that it is Hughes that is coming back, this is not a young Gretzky here. Can he be an elite top line center, sure. But he can also be the next Lawton. Or Daigle. I do not recall a scenario in which any team traded away 2/3 of their top line for nothing but a draft pick.

I’m not pushing it. I was responding to the person who said they couldn’t get a top 3 pick if packaged together, which I disagreed with. I wouldn’t make the trade myself because the likelihood that the drafted player is better than Kreider AND Zibanejad is highly unlikely.

Sign both

Nieves-Boyle-Hagelin

New 4th line

Overpay Hagelin and Boyle slightly on 1 year deals. (2) nice deadline rentals

I was agreeing with you. That is just ludicrous. Who trades away legit top line players, both of whom are still young, just for a a draft pick?
