If Colorado is really considering Hayes then they need to make a deal as soon as they can. If they wait until the trade deadline, they just might be out of it by then. Gotta wonder if Carolina is kicking the tires, too, since Jordan Staal has been out since 12/22 and they're hanging around despite that.

I think Carolina will be the team coming out of the Metro if they make the playoffs in that bracket, but I would only trade for Hayes if it was feasible to keep him. They will have the cap space, but does it fit in their budget and will Hayes want to sign?

The Avalanche aren’t going to trade the guy who is playing as their #1D right now for a rental while they’re in 18th place lol. Let alone add to Zadorov.

If hes playing like their #1 D then why are they even entertaining the thought of moving him?

If it is indeed true that he’s being discussed I’m guessing it’s because of contract reasons.

Yes because only the GM of an NHL team can conclude how out to lunch a fan’s trade offer on an internet forum is.

Although, personally, I hope you’re right, because Zadorov would be pretty disappointing as a centerpiece for Hayes.

A little bit of both, I guess. Not as bad as you make him out to be, not as good as some others on this board make him out to be.

Still, we need a player like that on the team. Biggest issue for me would be what the other piece(s) would be.

Some think our Ryan Graves can cover his minutes until Makar comes along ..he is due a big raise as RFA.

With the Zadorov talk here, I’d rather just see what Lindgren turns into before overpaying. Zadorov is a solid 4D but he can get overrated

Zadorov is the type of player this team has been looking for on the backend for a long while. I’d take him as a piece for Hayes. Not a key piece but I’d be interested. He’s a real nice 2/3 LD and his next contract should be reasonable.

Move Smith for Hanzal + Nichuskin like I’ve been saying for a month.

Trade McQuaid.

Trade Hayes + Vesey for Jost + Zadorov + COL 1st + Conditional pick

I read some of these posts and keep thinking to myself... are we talking about the same Nikita Zadorov?

He’s an alright player and probably is due for improvement as he moves into his prime, but he’s not worth a second thought.

As unfortunate as it is, he would provide a cost effective solution as that big body would physical defenseman the team has been missing for a while.

Maybe one of the depth wingers the Rangers have for him would be a useful deal for both sides as Colorado gets some more depth scoring and the Rangers get a big body defenseman to fill that hole

sign me up...but for in order to make sense Sakic has to have a resigned Hayes in order to give up that package because the AV'S are a bubble team.
