Good for Muse. I wanted him and Peca to stay.
I was just about to post, 5 years from now Pens will be in the finals and the Rangers will be on their 3rd coach since Sullivan.Muse will be another Knoblauch.
We didn't promote from within.... again...

If they give up next years pick they deserve that timelineWatch Muse win a cup with Pittsburgh after he drafts McKenna with our pick next year lmao
Anybody with a brain wouldn't even think about trading Cuylle for Robertson or Tkachuk whether it's here or on Mars.
That is so outlandish and would get laughed out of the building by anyone with any knowledge about the sport. I like Cuylle but he’s getting extremely overrated because everyone else on the team had a disappointing season and he exceeded expectations.
LaF for ReinbacherIdeally, I'd rather not deal Lafreniere, but he may be a candidate that would benefit from a change of scenery and getting away from this organization and have a new perspective o his career. Other pieces would be involved, so it wouldn't be just Laf for no. 4 overall (I was half kidding when I suggested that LOL).
He may break out, but I doubt that ever happens as a New York Ranger. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm skeptical.
why does it feel like we're getting sloppy seconds and they're getting the one we let get away
We really don't know what, specifically, Muse was responsible for here and I think the fawning over he and Peca was just based on the "not a retread" vibe. The team certainly wasn't good.
Definitely gonna wait and see what happens before I bemoan a big loss.
The Rangers are getting a Cup winning coach who will have instant respect in a room that just quit on a guy they didn't respect.why does it feel like we're getting sloppy seconds and they're getting the one we let get away
Is Rantanen the right kind of player? He was one everyone was salivating over for the first 1.5 series but how about now? As games got tougher in later rounds he laid a huge egg so probably not the right player (for the amount of money he is about to start getting).... This place's opinion is based on what you have done for me in the last two weeks.Necas couldn't break a ppg playing with one of the best playoff performers of all time just a month ago (who himself had a very productive series.) I think he's the right kind of player but not the right player as some guys just don't have it. He and Panarin are cut from the same deck.

The other point is that it sounds great in theory getting a teamful of players who play the right in playoffs and stay away from those skilled players that has a reduction in their production as games get tighter. The problem is that if you constructed the team this way - you should also consider that playing this way for the length of the season takes a huge toll on team. In my mind the previous iteration of Presidents Trophy team was just that. This is my reaction to posts that say "no thank you" to essentially anyone not named Tkachuk. IMO whatever cost permitting of course but Marner, Robertson or Necas would be a welcomed addition.
What good Rantanen if he couldn't score a measly goal in the last nine games and let Dallas once again die on the way to SCF never making it. PassRantanen is 6th all time in playoffs Pts/gp
He’s very much that guy.
Panarin and Necas have a track record of underperforming. Let’s not lump them together for the sake of it. There’s a big difference between a bad series and what Panarin and Necas have done.
