Whatever happens with Perreault I do not want him on Panarin's line next season. Pearreault needs the puck to learn at the NHL level and he'll never get it on Panarin's line
I'd be interested to see Perreault-JT-Zib. I think that could be a lethal line if Zib can keep his 2nd half of last season's form and if Perreault can keep up.

Size and strength is often mistaken for height and weight. It's not. Fans and media sleep on how important it is to have legs. Legs that go. Legs that keep you grounded for puck protection. Legs and wide stand that help you create puck separation because you're less likely to just bump off the player. If we go down our lineup, I think mot of the players have bigger arms than legs. They look like wet noodles on their skates.

ZZ Top would be proud of this post

When an assistant coach who you say you very much want to keep leaves you for a lateral move, to a worse team, with less stability in the GM/HC ranks…it’s a rough look.

Did they say they wanted to keep him. I might be wrong but I only remember they’d be able to interview for the job. Maybe drury and/or Sullivan didn’t jive with keeping him around or maybe he didn’t want to work with sully.

I would imagine that it is not all uncommon for the best player on the team to give his input to the coach on who he would like to play with. I highly doubt he "demanded" it and the source is Carp who is a troll and seeks out drama. And the coach can either say yes or say no. If a player demands a linemate, the coach disagrees, and the coach does it anyway the problem is the coach not the player. He's supposed to make the final decision.

As a coach I would not mind at all when players to tell me who they think they feel better chemistry with on the ice. Not a big deal at all imo. Does not mean the coach always goes along with it.

According to Molly: "After discussions with Peca and new Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan, according to a source, the organization felt this was the best decision for both parties."

Brad Marchand is 5’9 183. Berard can put on weight as he becomes an actual adult. His head is shoulder level so he’s going to be concussion prone is one of … the takes I’ve read here.

Berard is a buzz-saw. He’s one of those guys who is so likely to be a high energy 30-35 point player who works with almost everyone and is an excellent penalty killer. He’s also an absolute plus skater which the team needs more of.

He's 5'9, and listed at a verrrrrrry generous 175, or more likely 165. The way players are taking runs at everyone this playoffs i wouldn't wanna bet the farm that he could play in those series. His head is at elbow height to half the league
it's good to have big guys but you *need* guys who play big - bigger than they are.

Berard is one of those guys.

I read the Berard concussion thing like "Berard has concussion issues". I'm distracted at work. I didn't realize he was basically saying he is concussion prone because he is small. What? Lmao

I really don’t like the idea of saying the team can only play one of Othmann or Berard. There’s very different players but they both play with a physical edge and an energy level that this team sorely needs. Both project to be decent offensive players as well with different attributes. Keep both. Two years from now if someone surprises and they have a glut of young forwards then fine, pick who is the excess and make a deal but not now.

Correct. If there’s a hockey deal out there that’s worth making and one of them has to be a part of that package, that’s a different conversation, and depends on the actual deal in question. The notion we should choose one or the other just because is silly.

I'm not sure why Brandon tanev hasn't been discussed around here but he's a guy that is completely in the mold Drury has been adding. Guy is a complete warrior.

Othmann isnt good. He was a whiff of a pick. Id love to see him moved in a package around the draft while he still has at least a little value
