I know RB has cited it a few times, but what's LA's plan with hiring Ken Holland? Friedman, Johnston, and Seravalli have all mentioned that this is likely a shorter-term hire for Holland with him turning 70 this year. They've all linked him with Ryan Martin from his days in Detroit, and the guy has over 20 years of experience of working in NHL front offices. I don't know how old he is, but it seems like a good situation for him to take over as GM for Holland once his contract is up. This is assuming the agree to Rangers let him go; they've done this lately with both Mike Grier and Kris Knoblauch letting them go accept promotions elsewhere.
With the Leafs not renewing Shanahan's contract and Keith Pelley saying that he plans on working with Brad Treliving more directly. They have five assistant GMs right now. Keith Pelley said they want to streamline their processes, and I think there could be some good opportunities to bring in someone from a very crowded Toronto front office. I doubt they'd let Brandon Pridham go elsewhere, but I'd look to see if they could interview Ryan Hardy for a job. I've posted about him before, but he did an incredible job running the Chicago Steel and has strong ties to US hockey. He's from CT too and other teams were trying to hire him before he took the Toronto job. The guy knows how to identify talent and develop. It didn't bear fruit in Toronto, but the track record is there. We certainly can't do worse when it comes to the development aspect within this organization.
