Speculation: Roster Building Thread: Part XX (WTF are we going to do this Off-Season edition)

Cue that guy telling us they want Boeser. The worst contract waiting to happen in my opinion.
Be careful bc there has been boeser to nyr nonsense floated as well already. All depends how much nyr is able to trade out though.

I still keep wondering if Panarin ends up in minny for the one year. Nyr retains 50 percent and rossi comes back.maybe a draft pick swap included. Depends if Panarin and kaprizov want to play together and the sell job that takes place.

You know why JTM had his career years in Vancouver? Because unlike NY and especially Tampa he couldn’t play golf there.
JTM just zeroed in on being his best player. He's always been an alpha and when he was younger he was an arrogant dick. He got older and now he's a dick that demands effort from his teammates. All you need is to watch the leaked video of Alvin last week to get confirmation. I'm fairly confident that Alvin wanted to trade EP but Rutherford wouldn't let him do it which forced them to trade Miller. They literally traded away the guy that works harder, came to camp more prepared and in better shape, and demanded more from his teammates so they could keep the younger players that isn't taking his career as serious. Canucks knew they were heading to a mess (they know what's coming with Hughes) and chose to play the long game, and Alvin has Rutherford willing to take the bullet on this mess if EP completely blows up in their face. Rutherford has even stated it was his decision to keep EP instead of Miller when others in the org felt differently. Miller is not an issue here, he's an attitude that was needed in that locker room and he's a damn good player...

Sign Cuylle to an 8 year deal now. Long term or bust for him

What's the AAV gonna be?
The 2nd round compensation threshold is what, around $4.685m?
Matt Coronato just signed a 7 x $6,5M extension with 47 points last season so I'm expecting something similar.
that’s actually a really good/scary comp.
Coronato put up 47 on a bad bad Calgary team. He did it with pp minutes.
Cuylle did it on a medium bad rangers team.
With tiny amounts of pp time.

I’m just not sure we have the cap to go long term like that until after we move ck. Which puts us in a slight bind.
