The Olli react should add points!
Yeah! It's not that far off.Sounds a lot like Laf
Svechnikov is a guy.

This is team that finishes in a WC spot or the 3 seed in the division, but they're not making any noise in the playoffs.
I'm confused about which one's which in that analogy. Regardless neither of them solves any problems for this team. There was this old fantasy football commercial where someone foolishly picked "The fancy wide reciever with an attitude problem" over the best available running back, and that's how I feel when I see you guys pitching Svech/Marner.
They're both that. Perimeter wingers, in my view, are top end wide recievers. It's nice to have them, but you don't build around them.I'm confused about which one's which in that analogy. Regardless neither of them solves any problems for this team.
Hasn't made much of a difference for Carolina.Hard disagree.
It's pretty clear which one is which if those are the choices. The one criticism of Marner, and it's a valid one, is that he shrinks in the playoffs, but the dude is great at everything.I'm confused about which one's which in that analogy. I agree Marner is much better, but I would never compare him to a high end running back whom I equate as a workhorse. It's pretty clear which one is which if those are the choices. Where was that version of Laf this season?Svech has been a non factor in the canes games against us in the playoffs. Aho drives the bus, and Jarvis is his wingman. Lafreniere schooled the panthers and canes last year now we all hate him.
Barely noticed him in our matchups. He's overrated.Svech has been a non factor in the canes games against us in the playoffs. Aho drives the bus, and Jarvis is his wingman. Lafreniere schooled the panthers and canes last year now we all hate him.
Just putting this out there, (not sure if Zib would allow it )but maybe this years first rounder, 11Th overall and Zib to Detroit for Larkin?
Sully will have to go looking for it.Where was that version of Laf this season?
Overpayment
Exactly. When does Laf start getting the reputation of being a coach killer like Mika and Kreids do? 13 has worn a C at every level, has pedigree of being first overall pick, yet had his greatest disappearing act on- and off-ice this season when team desperately needed some leadership and guys to take bull by horns. His '24 playoff performance was an aberration.Sully will have to go looking for it.
Even going by broken the 30 goal barrier you end up being wrong.*Broken 30, and also you decided to throw out "pace for". It's a bit funny that the conversation didn't involve you, but as soon as you saw a Zibanejad post, you came running.
and i'll add this: where was that version of laffy vs the devils during those playoffs?Where was that version of Laf this season?
Larkin really isn't any better than Zibanejad. In what way? Do you value either Zibs or #11 individually as high as Larkin?
I agree that Zibs does not have negative value. I have never said that about Zibs and almost never about any Ranger. I disagree that Zibs is as good as Larkin at this point in time. Based on last season Zibs may have to play RW to be effective. I think it is safe to say Zibs has been in decline at age 32. Larkin is 28. Larkin brings speed that we desperately need. I think Zibs value is a 2nd round pick based on age and contract. I think Larkins value may be a top 10 pick.Larkin really isn't any better than Zibanejad.
Zibanejad has some holes, no doubt about that, but treating him like he has negative value is wild.
Larkin really turned heads at the 4 Nations. We would be miles ahead if Detroit was dumb enough to trade him here for Mika.Larkin really isn't any better than Zibanejad.

Laf hasn't done squat away from Panarin. And with Panarin potentially leaving, then what? Drury should be fielding offers on Laf and assessing his value across the league. 1LD has to be a top priority. Sergachev would also look great in a blueshirt.and i'll add this: where was that version of laffy vs the devils during those playoffs?
i just hope that the next coach doesn't regularly play cuylle on the 3rd line because of this guy. based on the stat progressions that i've seen i could see cuylle be an all star within the next couple of years.
Larkin isn't being traded for a single top ten pick...his return would be closer to what Eichel got, A first rounder, a roster player & a prospect.I agree that Zibs does not have negative value.
