As far as the fowards go, I'm not that surprised, although I would imagine Lafreniere has to be close to the cut-off.

I think they more so don't play fast than literally don't skate fast.

They also don't have anybody with great speed.

McD not scoring more I'm guessing is a fluke, not aware if Oil has Fs playing mo D.

I vote a fluke. Always surprised McDavid does not score more because he is so highly skilled.

I know this isn't the answer that you're asking for but it's the answer that any rational person would provide. In order to fix something first you have to be able to recognize that it needs to be fixed. To his credit, he did recognize that a team that just went to the Eastern conference final needed to have changes made to it order for them to be able to get over the hump and he tried to start that process 10 months but strategically trying to swap trouba for guenzel. It didn't work out because of some contractual stuff and voids in secondary leadership. There's probably 20 to 24 other fan bases in the league that prior to this year would have loved the general team success that the rangers have had the last few years, but that success was always going to be capped by their inability to take the next steps. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward again. So what I guess I'm getting at here is I have faith that he understands what the issues are and I think it's a good thing that he has the type of support from ownership that he does mainly because it empowers him to act. What he does with that autonomy is yet to be seen and probably the most important part of freeing up options is going to come from how much he learned last year from being out maneuvered by Kurt O. If he isn't able to move some of the zombies in the locker room (and their contacts) then any attempts to" "fix" this is going to essentially be Band-Aid on broken leg. The other real big issue is this might actually be the summer that you do more for your organization by doing less because of just how bad the ufa market is and how potentially inflated some of the contracts are going to be this summer while agents try to take advantage of the new cap world.

Pre-knowledge can be a double edged sword and you need to be ready to deal with things that can go awry…..that you should expect. If you’re out on a limb……..falls can happen.

I mean I get all that, I think everybody does that shares information. I think there probably needs to be a little more "education" on the other side of that situation to reel in the people that are pretty much hoping that things fall apart so that they can jump down other people's throats and claim that they don't have any contacts/information. I'm not posting on here crying that people give me a hard time, I'm responding to somebody that is criticizing me. This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about where somebody jumps in and comments on a post without having the context of why it was posted to begin with. I didn't go asking for this, the other person made the post I responded to ha

It's also pretty funny because you go back a little while ago and a certain somebody in the organization gets fired and another poster on here with years of confirmation of their connections indirectly acknowledges that part of the firing was from that person leaking information and then somehow people on here are still surprised when those of us with some contacts aren't going to hang the contacts out by sharing everything in a manner that exposes where the information came from...

There's a bigger picture here than a message board

Getting Sullivan seems like the perfect time to do what the Rangers do best. Recreate former Cup teams in NY.

Time to get Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel. Letang.

We could also hire Joel Q and go the Kane and Toews route. Talk Sharp and Keith and Seabrook out of retirement.

Tough decisions for Mr. Drury.

Tbh the slowest skating defenseman on the Rangers is also their best. Miller, Schneider, Borgen can all move pretty well

This is a very bad and uneducated take.

Nathan MacKinnon without his 30% from the PP would score less than Tim Stutzle (79) who in his turn would score less than Pavel Zacha (47) without his 30% from the PP.

List of players with at least 1/3rd PP production:

MacKinnon
Draisatl
Eichel
Necas
Point
Reinhart
Guentzel
Matthews

Here is a list of players who all have 1/3rd of their production coming from the PP and would all fall into Kakko production territory without it.

Oh, I completely understand that there may well be a step backwards that is required to fix things. I actually thought they ended the rebuild a year early. I would rather they have long term solutions as opposed to applying bandages and rolling the dice in the playoffs. I just wasn’t sure how Drury was looking at things other than what appears to me. It definitely seems like he knows the problems. I don’t know enough to see if his intended solutions are viable. Then, of course, is the availability of opportunity to actually do business to fix things. He does deserve criticism for the Buch deal, but the Mika contract seems like it was the best option available at that moment. This is all very fluid due to what other teams are willing to do and dealing with NMCs. There is no quick solution on the horizon.
