Roster Building Thread : Part XVIII ( TDL is March 7th)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Well that is my worry. The way they have been playing all year and where they stand now. It is very possible they fall below 13. And obviouly is that crappy 11-13 range not close to top 5/6.

Look no one knows what will happen next year but will I be shocked if we are worse and other teams get better? Nope. That is a gamble I did not wanna take giving up an unprotected first rounder in what is supposed to be a very good draft year. Not even gonna mention Millers age because he isn't getting any younger.
I hear you and here’s how I think about these chances, you definitely can disagree:

1. Their chances of falling below 13 is probably still in 30%-40% range
2. Their chances of next season team being the same or worse shape as this disaster that started with Trouba and Goodrow expulsion and mutiny that followed along with down seasons pretty much across the roster is similarly about 30% vs otherwise

Combined we’re talking less than 20% chance of this outcome. Is it possible? Sure but less likely by a significant degree. For whatever it’s worth.

There's no way this team all fell off a cliff at the same time, imo they don't like the coach or at the least disagree with his directions. Decline cab happen to a couple players and there would be no thought about it, but for everyone to be worse this year points to an issue with management or coaching.
Someone has to pay the price. It starts with the coach(es)

I think there is a decent chance this could happen. I also wonder if Anaheim would be an option. I think they are starting to get impatient for some playoff games. The L.A area has a substantial Russian population. Also, if the Kings lose to the Oilers in the first round again, you would think the Kings might be willing to take a swing with Bread. He doesn’t fit their style, but obviously their style ain’t working.
yeah, they could use scoring W(s)
but I think if we first establish Igor + Fox to the highest bidders, and do the retirement style Kreider offload, Zib, reading the writing on the wall, should be open to LA. It is NYC of the west w/an established music scene incl his genre

Zib max retained and, reluctantly, Schneider + Jones +lesser pick
for
Byfield + Helenius, + Dvorak + better pick

Zib is at min 3 yr min stopgap at pivot, can do scoring RW until Kopitar fades
also they are very concerned Doughty falls off a cliff, w/no depth. This solves that for them.

Losing underappreciated Schneid is a wince, but these 3 would be a win for us
