BOOM Married

It’s a little early but she’s making a strong case

On top of the cake she had us sitting about 10 rows back at the 4-0 Rangers win in NJ last weekend. She bought herself a Rangers winter hat and put a Rangers ornament on her tree and is pretty willing to learn and embrace the sport, which is by no means the most important thing, but it’s nice that she wants to share an interest.

I can certainly see the case for Lindgren. There's a lot to like. I don't think the gap is huge, but it's Hajek by a smidge for me.

Is Rykov exempt from expansion ? HOw about Ruenanen. This year Hajek and LINDGren have longer looks but next year will be interesting

@GAGLine said it a few pages back: ADA and Georgiev are possibly would play themselves out of the future Rangers roster just based on numbers of available roster spots in their respective positions and relative cap costs vs alternative potential (likely) considerations for the same spots. However the decision on ADA doesn’t need to be made for probably another two seasons after this one. Georgiev is more imminent but there’s still no urgency to act hastily.

Its clear that we could help out Toronto with Georgiev, but they aren't a good trade partner. They have less than zero cap room so anyone we send them would also require a body coming back. We don't have enough cap room for a Nylander or even really a Kapanen without first shedding some salary elsewhere. They also have almost no picks remaining next draft, and their project pool is mostly D that wouldn't play over our own and just complicates our expansion draft picture.

Has she learned to chip the puck off the glass into the neutral zone?

Sounds like she has a pretty high ceiling. I'd try to lock her up long term

Would Bracco and a mid round pick be a decent return?I dont know much about him but Pronman has him as their #2 prospect. Though he's fairly small and known more for passing, which we pretty much have covered.

That’s a no for me. I have zero interest in Bracco. He’s in every one of their proposals on the trade board now. I don’t know how he’s their 2 prospect. Sandin and Lilly would both be ahead of him I’d think.

On a side note, Zucc just does not look too happy to be anywhere but NY. Doesn’t look like he fits in there.

ehh I disagree. Aside from it being insane to make that assumption off a quick video...I think that’s his personality. A bit dry and sarcastic.

I guess thats not horrible but I think we can do better, even in keeping Georgiev.

Ahhh, I see where we're going here...

Forget about Staal accepting a trade. There’s really no financial benefit for him to accept a trade. Worst case for him is a buyout and then he picks his destination to make up the difference.

Do I see it this season? No, I don't. Could I potentially see him being moved for a late pick at next years deadline? Sure, why not. A contender might want to add some bottom pair or press box depth. Teams like veterans in the playoffs, and as much as Staal is on the back 9, he does have a lot of experience. It's up to him if he wants to accept, but if it's the last year of his contract and he has a chance to join a team with legitimate cup aspirations then I wouldn't be surprised if he went for it. Him not being in NY for 3-4 months might not be a deal breaker at that point. As for this year, I don't see anyone picking up that cap hit and if they did he might very well turn down a trade so I agree with you on that.

I don't see a buy out unless the Rangers are desperate to save a few cents next year. I know from your post that you really want to contend now, and I totally get that. However, if you're a bit more objective,, I think competing this year or next year is a real long shot. Although, I do think they have a real chance at being a playoff team with another year under their belts. My opinion is that this is their last big swing at the draft before they start to seriously look to start progressing towards being a legitimate contender.

Currently lundkvist is killing the shl, now i feel two things r gonna happen. Either theyll sign him once season is ovsr and either let him try his trade in hartford or they trade deangelo and call up joey keane who is playing very well for a rookie. The other option would be let him develop in the shl another year, but idk i want him to get used to na ice. Honestly, i feel gortons gonna be using the d surplus to trade for forwards next season. I also feel, as i think evryone does, Quinn's true test as to whether he stays on will be next season, so he gets a chance with a mlre developed roster. My greatest fear, and this is legitimate concern, is that gorton and co. feel that ruff isnt on the hotseat because the d are young and they are prone to mistakes. I must say i am a quinn fan, i think hes good at development sans the deployment of andersson. As for shaking up the lines, i love kakko and im happy hes getting a chance on the top line but i rlly think hes not ready... yet. However, playing with panarin and mika could be very good for him. As for strome, bump him the f*** down. Hes very good at 3c, but top 2 lines is just not his thing, blame it on islanders and edmonton for f***ing that one up. I think kcb (kreids-chytil- buch) would be ideal 2c, especially considering that chytil is a budding star(im super high on him to become a super star) . within a month, expect rykov to try out for that 2nd pair spot, im high on him bc well hes huge and also bc he skates well, good enough to be on the team. The thing i must say that is most important... out of everything.... is we have a rlly good ahl coach and i think thats something we didnt have the opportunity to say before.

I don't think I see the Rangers paying the price for a guy like Nylander, though I could be wrong. I think Gorton has more of a Boston type team in mind, and the Rangers already have some softer guys in their top 6. I think a deal would really have to land around some combination of Buchnevich, Skjei, and Georgiev - maybe all three with another piece coming back.
