No idea who this is so it could be complete bullshit, but it would certainly be in the Rangers' MO to waste a mid-round pick on a bad defender in a throwaway season.
hold Kreider at least for now DO NOT TAKE LESS bc injury
BREAD at half + for bish + 1st
Oth for Kreid when he's healing fine
but deal Vesey so there is a roster spot for him now
do not overpush Oth, he's playing well w/Rempe, etc
there is also room for Berard
also there's no way lindgren gets traded. smith vesey even kreider yes. lindgren stayskreider for bichsel and a 1st is such delusional rangers fan nonsense i can't believe its still being repeated.
he's not worth either by himself. other teams also watch him play..
I think Chicago just called him up.Here’s a dumpster dive
Athanasiou doing well in AHL
Probably free
also there's no way lindgren gets traded. smith vesey even kreider yes. lindgren stays
There are more people who agree with my opinion including on this board but the Fox mafia comes after anyone who doesn't think Fox is a top 3 D in the NHL. The constant excuses made for this player are too much. The guy is making $9.5M per. This is a business. These guys are professionals. Stop making excuses. Brooks said he believes Fox doesn’t appreciate the criticism about his game. Stop.
I just think the Rangers are better off moving Fox. The Rangers should be able to get a really good return to help them build their team. I liked the way the team played last night. Take out Fox and Kreider. That's $16M. Acquire other players/assets. Use that money on other players.
I don't think that the Rangers can win a championship with Fox as their lead D. He is a small D. His skating is below average. He can't defend. You need to able to defend. His brain may be elite but that only takes you so far.
He can start training harder in the summer. Stop.
Who, how and when are the Rangers adding the rest of the pieces on D to complement Fox who is a 2nd pair D and PP specialist?
I think we need to back off the pipe dreams of firsts for Kreider or Lindgren.Krieder for a 1st and bischel
Lindgren for a 1st
Smith for a 2nd and 5th
Vesey for a 4th
Bischell in for Lindy
Othmann in for krieder
Berard in for vesey.
It's a massive risk but Schneider for Byram
Pray he stays healthy
For realI think we need to back off the pipe dreams of firsts for Kreider or Lindgren.
These other teams have scouts too
For real
Kreider could conceivably get a full haul in a trade, sorry guys but you've all been watching the same league I have the past 20 years. Guys like Chris are coveted by GMs. It's one of the reasons I'm even open to moving him- it looks more and more like he and Panarin may actually be declining now and so if the plan is to be good 3-4 more years, now might be the time to swap them out.
For Lindgren, a late 2nd rounder would be fair.
Then you give Cuylle 6 years, 25 million.
Also when you are 34 being injured and ineffective is the norm rather than the exception. Then why has he been playing? Why did he go to the 4 Nations when other players sat out to heal injuries? Why was he called out by Drury and healthy scratched by Laviolette? Nobody said boo about his back until after the Memo. reeks of excuse making, which tis team has done over the years with injuries (see: Trouba in 2024, Strome in 22)
I honestly don't think its about the NHL. I think it's about McDavid himself. Does he feel more comfortable on a small stage playing in a place where many American fans rarely see him play? Or would he like to play on a bigger stage where the world will know who he is? Many non hockey fans heard of Gretzky and Mario. I doubt many non hockey fans have a clue who McDavid is. What level of attention does McDavid feel comfortable with? The likelihood is VERY small
- the Oilers are going to do everything they can to get him to sign.
- in the event that they feel like they can't, they are going to trade him either before the deadline (if they're out of it) or before the draft/UFA to a team that thinks they can.
I'd put the likelihood of him really, truly hitting the UFA market at about 5%.
You guys will say it’s me but Lindgren has been better of late . He’s going to have trade value
I think many just look at the stats and we’ll he’s like top 6 in D man pts
Guys like him don’t grow on trees
McDavid hasn’t scored a 5 on 5 goal for a while ….. many top players score mostly on the PP
blake is such an interesting GM to evaluate. so man poor moves that turned what was a solid team and farm into a bit of a search - PLD, fiala, etc. but he also knows when to cut bait with dreck like kaliyev. odd exec.float vesey to la kings for laferierre. kings gm rob blake is an asshole and will probably throw in spence coming back
agreed. Trouba trade is pretty much what id expect coming back - 3rd rounder, or a young depth F with a year or two of controlIm not saying you arent correct about Kreider and other dumb GMs but I have to see it to believe it.
