I don’t think we know that. As of right now it’s obvious what the outlier was.They haven't hit and that's the point. And Kakko has yet to have a season anywhere close to Lafreniere. And Lafreniere prior to the extension had a fantastic start to the season after a breakout season last year and just like everyone he sunk. He would have done a lot better in Seattle than he's doing here.
But yeah back to square one. The Rangers are in this position because their highest paid guys are not performing as such, and the ones with NMCs may not be movable. And of course we can’t attach draft compensation to move these guys because it’s already been traded away. Therefore, either embrace the suck and expect more seasons like this, or be prepared to make some very tough decisions. That’s it
