Cuylle had a solid rookie year, then a very good first half of this year and is still paced for 21 goals and 43 points in his 2nd year after turning 23 less than a month ago
"always gonna be" is a wild statement with that as your metrics to go off of lol
Again, so sensitive about our own players. Cuylle was never, ever expected to be a genuine top six talent. You NEED good third liners who can play up. That’s an asset. He’s one of a few bright spots on the team. If he is our prized jewel “young top six” guy we are beyond screwed. Laffy is abdicating that throne rapidly, and there isn’t anyone to fill it. Cuylle being your only hope for a future top six player is bleak.
No fan base has ever shit on as many league superstars while pumping the value and potential of 35-40 point players to be stars. Cuylle will end the year with ~38 points in all likelihood. His game has cooled off tremendously so his final totals won’t match his current pro-rated total. I’m not shitting on him, nor saying he CAN’T play in the top six. I’m very honestly just being realistic about our roster. Cuylle is a great player to have on your team to play in your middle six. Thinking there’s more juice to squeeze from that orange will leave you thirsty.
