Lindgren's been a weak link for awhile, but does it surprise anyone that he's tried to step up behind the scenes and lead a bit more? Lindgren has always been a battler and given his all. He'd make a great leader. I think we'd be happy to hear the coach say something like this if Lindgren's play on the ice hadn't already soured everyone's opinions so badly.
Personally, I don't think it makes a difference whether he stays or goes. Maybe. I'm hopeful the Rangers can move Lindgren and get something of value, because it's time. But I have respect for Lindgren doing this considering he's probably heard rumors the team is trying to trade him, and probably has seen the writing on the wall.
If Drury gets a 1st for Lindy I will insist at least 5 posters put I luv Drury as their signaturesWell I hope 31 GMs listen to Brooks and Drury does not. Lindgren for a 1st, baby! Lindgren for Buium! Lindgren for Silayev! Or my favorite deal, Lindgren inexplicably for all three.
this should help ease the speculation...
I've always liked Lindgren, but we've seen enough of Staal and Girardi to know his style of game will age him prematurely. As much as I like the guy and really appreciate that style of play, a long-term commitment at top dollar is going to be rough going and doesn't make sense at this juncture.
I'm not surprised he's stepping up a bit more. He's a veteran, and he's had previous leadership roles before, so coaches clearly see it in him. If he's moving down on the defensive chart and specializing on the PK, then that's one thing, but he would have to be paid appropriately.
So the boys have been drinking some Mexican tap water...Explains a lotI remember last year Mollie Walker getting a quote from Kreider saying Lindgren is the “F’n Straw that Stirs the Drink”.

Big brain play to put out all the leadership propaganda about Lindgren in light of all the disarray in VancouverThey wanted a whiff of Lindgren’s leadership
This paired with the Larry article, hate to admit it folks but they’re testing the waters on keeping Lindgren

Unless they were there to scout the Canes….Probably going to hear about those Canucks scouts being involved in a hotel room murder-suicide after watching that.
