Rantanen, for my money, is twice the player Panarin is, but nonetheless he’s a UFA who needs a massive extension - possibly the richest for any winger ever. Watch this return for a rental and tell me we shouldn’t retain 50% on Panarin and trade him while he still has a year left. They’re 3 years apart, Bread has an extra year on his deal - which at 50% is an absurd bargain - and while not, IMO nearly as good, has produced just as well the last few years. We should move him. We won’t because we are stupid and for zero other reason.

Im thrilled about this as a Ranger fan. Takes Canes out for JT and they give up Necas to bring in 2 UFA wingers. Chytil I think will be another Czech C on the move soon.
