Vancouver putting out there to their media now that JT Miller wants a trade. No way that is Miller's camp. There were reports recently that Miller had asked them to not let this linger and he is good with moving on, but was fine putting on a front to the media (as in not putting anything out there at all and letting Vancouver front office do their thing).
Vancouver reeks of desperation.
They don't want to retain, and they don't want to risk decreased ticket sales.
which is why now is good time for bern's deal which looks good both sides, but is in currency we want
Smith + Lindgren + Kaliyev + Sykora
for
jtm + desharnais who likely we dump waive if he is actually a pylon
keep Chytil, keep 1st, keep other prospects w/mo upside
If they want to expand it to include other D that's another discussion
I see this Mika does not want Van line often. He probably wants to stay put if possible but I'm more willing to accept the Mika does not want Van line if someone shows me Mika or his agent saying it.
The line is he, like bread, is happy here and does not wanna move
We have reason to believe Mika understands that if a nuclear option is dropped and he is dnp going forward, at some pt he relents, tho he still will want relocation on his terms
rather than being obstinate, we should oblige if possible
Probably but thats probably more about Van wanting a better deal than Mika refusing to go imo.
I disagree with an asterisk.
Whether it is brinksmanship or something else, mika has not been accommodating to date on waiving, to anywhere.
VAN on the other hand def doesn't want big contract and new and not improved brand x zib for jtm
Howev, if we gave them mika at half for virtually free, I don't see any reason they say no. Do you?
I think it is cost of assets paid vs profit upside
I think a lot of this has to do with Mika and family not wanting to be an extra 6 hours further from Sweden
Some said must be east cost team for this reason.
i’d be shocked if they even got chytil at this point. starting to look like a package of lindgren, mid prospect and a first w protections would be a blessing for vancouver. regardless of whether or mot you want miller drury has played this insanely well
see my above suggestion.
Lindgren + mid prospect not enuf
can sell sykora as the feature prospect, kaliyev as quality youth w/upside even if limited eye test there, plus useful smith as a cap dump
plus we take Desharnais, who they wanna unload, off their hands
I could see Van coming back and asking for the same package. Remove the 1st or change it to a lower round and make the deal.
I love Chytil (and Lindgren, as a competitor and a Ranger) and would hate to see him go but he’s too much of a liability and Miller is a massive upgrade over him.
Lindgren is addition by subtraction and a 2nd is the usual throw in for Drury. We all know the percentages in that round. You could easily make another deal for a better Dman than Lingren and fill his spot.
consider my above prop
I understand but is that fact or theory? We see a lot of people posting their theories as fact. I remember hearing Gabs cant be traded. Gabs cant be traded. Then he was traded and not even asked to waive his NTC until after the deal was done. Lets say it is about geography.
How many times does his family travel to or from Sweden during the season? I just do not think many players fight to stay where they are not wanted. Some do. There are those exceptions but usually if a workplace does not want you then you prefer to be somewhere else eventually. I'm not saying Mika would say yes to Van. I just do not like thinking theories are facts. For all I know Mika luvs Van because it is beautiful. Point is I just do not know. I would like some actual evidence of stuff occasionally lol.
you are asking for peeps to be rational here
He’s lost like 2 steps from where he was last year for real and has had a knee issue that looks like it’s still a thing.
Can’t find any other explanation for him being that much slower. He’s gone from
Close to elite to below average.
which is why I can see an add and they get Dobson
Isles may be pressed to gamble on Elais Pett returning to form
