I understand your thinking but who knows. Vancouver is a very beautiful place to live. But then Mika needs to say yes to Vancouver. Mika will not be saying yes to Vancouver.

I'm just saying they're not going to give Kreider the Goodrow treatment this offseason. Will they try to move him? Maybe. But it makes zero sense to do it during the season, especially if they're bringing in Miller. Also, he's hurt and he's coming off a pretty damn good season last year. And he's been one of the franchise's best playoff performers. I'm gonna wait to see how things shake out and who does what in the post season before saying who needs to go and who can stay.
I don't think Vancouver wants Mika
I dunno about the Rangers but I'm convinced Chytil's health issues are not behind him. even if he doesn't have another "misses and entire season" I think he's always gonna get hurt and miss a chunk and then take weeks to get back to playing at the level he was at before injury.
When you have team control, you either use it to limit liability via short term contracts that force them to perform to get paid, or you get a long term deal at a discount for financial security.Ottawa couldn’t wait to lock everyone up for max term and they’re paying for it, though I agree in Sanderson’s case it’s paying off.
I don’t think the Canucks will do it but if the offers are that low, they should just call JT’s bluff. Tell him he’s not playing and unless he opens his desired locations, they’ll talk to him again in the summer.
That coupled with telling the acquiring teams “we’re not taking a bath on this deal, we’re fine just waiting it out and trading him when offers improve”. It’s not like Vancouver is playing for anything this year anyways.
They won’t do it because the NHL is boring but that would be exciting.

Calgary is competing. They won't move their core D who's also signed to a reasonable deal, especially with unsigned Lindgren as a key piece. There isn't a universe that Sanderson is moved. Ottawa couldn't wait to lock him up for as long as possible. He's the #1.
You have to look for a blueline that's a little overcrowded or non-diverse. Also teams in some flux, which there are many. I wouldn't be against dipping in the Seattle pool again if they continue to stink. Or Anaheim for that matter. They've got LaCombe, Zellweger and Mintkutov on the left side, would they move one of them?
I think if I were really going "all-in" on contending in the near future, my #1 target would be Weeger in Calgary. If you could get him for a package of like Lindgren, Othmann/Emery, and a first I'd do that without a doubt.
Why threaten him with a good time?Tell him he’s not playing and unless he opens his desired locations, they’ll talk to him again in the summer.
The Canucks are a daytime soap opera
They called up the other Elias Pettersson. Maybe they are going to try to trick a team into paying for one and taking the other. If you want to trade Pettersson, trade Pettersson. If you want to trade Pettersson because you're angry at the value offered for Miller, you should be canned from the organization.
I think it's a coping mechanism of softening the blow of expected disappointment. This is bullshit. D is clearly better. Though yesterday was not an example of it. Goaltending is also better but it's not all goaltending. Rangers fans literally can never be happy. Need to be f***ing miserable all of the f***ing time.
