Am I the only one getting the feeling we're about to include Schneider in a JTM deal now that Borgen is here to stay? I imagine he'd want to play his natural side this early in his career, would have been a different story if he was on a lucrative 7-8 year deal.

just looking at rangers cap sheet.. jesus what a mess. it's hard not to be negative.

Consider: Laf is on a 49 point pace, down from 57. his contract looked like a borgen, now more like an albatross. How is he going to fare without Panarin?

You absolutely have to try and convince Panarin to go to a contender as soon as this season. Do exactly what Colorado just did. Get a dynamic young center for Laf to play with, or a 1LD with top 4 upside. The sooner you trade Bread, the more you get. He's not extending for less than 8 million x 3 years. You just can't keep him around. Get him a Cup.

Mika is here for the long haul. Put him at 2C, try him at wing like Stamkos.. I don't believe they will move him.

Kreider has to go yesterday. He's reasonably effective, reasonably cheap (we'd retain) and a good brand name. A great Ranger. but if you're trying to win you need to assign higher salary numbers to dynamic players. Kreider isnt dynamic. almost no Rangers are - Chytil, Panarin, and Fox. Cuylle, Othmann, Perreault, these guys need a shot to play for real.

it's a mess and i believe we need to trade everything valuable that's not nailed down. Retool down the middle and on LD.

I'm positive we will not, though, and i think we'll double down and be buyers this year. it's an arms race in the east now.

How’s this a mess? The only bad one is Zibanejad’s with all restrictions and price to performance ratio. Kreider and Panarin are movable and valuable (and tbh - 3*$8 for Panarin after his current contract expires could be a pretty reasonable deal).

We've repeatedly said we aren't including Schneider. With Carolina now out of the bidding, I can't see Drury suddenly relenting and giving up Schneider.

Miller-Fox
Schneider-Borgen

Jones will most likely be gone. We'll almost certainly re-sign Vaakanainen. Mancini will get time. Fortescue and Emery are still a ways out. We'll need to add a 6/7 dman. Maybe 2, since Ruhwedel will probably be gone as well.

I’m keeping the hope that Drury will bring a bona fide 1LD but even if not, I’d rather keep Miller with Borgen and so shift Schneider to Fox’s left.

I'm sort of here too but I'd give Schneider a shot and see if he can do it.

Don't need to reach outside of the house if you already have the solution in the room. I don't think he'll be the solution, but I'm willing to let that not work before doing anything else.

- retained bread to DAL for Bisch +
- Fox to OTT for Kleven ++++
- Shesty + Tro + for Byfield, Helenius, Clarke, Dvorak +
