Speculation: Roster Building Thread : Part XV (Light em up!)

If they don’t move Mika like immediately after then trading for Miller makes zero sense.

If the deal is Chytil Sykora and Chmelar… you kind of have to do that.
I just deduced that’s what it was based on the scratches. Might have been Zibanejad. Either way I’m kinda glad it fell through. I doubt Mika is going anywhere and are we really relying on 3 32 year old centers? Past this season it’s untenable.

Can we please keep KK in the around the NHL thread (or his trade thread)?
I don't think we're building a roster that contains him....
Yeah. I'm one of the biggest Kakko apologists out here, started following the NYR closely when he came over. But it's over. We can and should quibble about the return, but it was best for both sides to move on.

Maybe now we can focus on how to not turn Berard and Perreault into Kakko, when they come up. We are doing well in the part of development of not bringing them up too soon, but when they do they need roles corresponding to their skills and what we want them to become.

I could see it being Chytil going the other way. That would make some sense. I think Drury wants to move Zibanejad but I could see Vancouver not loving that return.

I could also see another piece coming back from Vancouver in that type of deal

Chytil plus the guys scratched in Hartford for Miller a possibility ?

why would anyone want Chytil, if we're being honest? I'm sure the Rangers would certainly move him in the right deal but with the injury history why would Vancouver risk this? Unless they're that desperate to move Miller and his contract.

what are we doing here? Are we really talking about taking on Miller without Mika going the other way?
You want Miller/Mika and Igor making close to 30 million dollars for the next 7 or 8 years?

No, but I could see where trading Chytil would also be beneficial…

Chytil, Sykora, Chmelar , 2025 1st (top-5 protected)

Absolutely not. I’m not trading a 1st in any scenario

Speculation I saw from Vancouver suggests the OWENER of the Nucks stepped in saying it was not enough for Miller. Curious to know what the offer was. Miller went from being scratched to playing in short time. I almost feel sorry for Vancouver.
Do you guys know what the ranger offer was?

For those who are not aware. The nucks are dealing with

1) Debrusk stalking following him from Boston and going public she is banned from attending game live
2) Demnko not happy and reportedly considering asking for the trade
3) Brock Boser telling the team he wont talk a new contract till after the season is over. he will be a ufa
4) Then you have the miller/pettersson problem.

Been awhile since a team had that much dirt being aired in public

Whatever we think, it seems like Drury is ok with having miller and Mika on the team. I hate it and it’s disappointing because the team has zero plan.just because the deal seems like it’s off doesn’t negate the thought process.

The latter. They want to jettison him as soon as possible.

Problem is Mika has a NMC.

He has a young family, he's not waiving to move to Vancouver. If anything it'd have to be somewhere east coast.

Zib trade is almost for certain an offseason move I think. And I think it is more likely than not.

I agree with this.

The Rangers AHL team kept out a few guys randomly earlier today. Adam Sykora, Jaroslav Chmelar and Bo Groulx. The theory is that the first two may have been involved while Groulx would have been recalled to replace someone

Absolutely not beneficial trading a guy with only 2 years left on his contract at what 4 million for a guy who basically has a contract going until he is almost 40.

i know Chytil's injury history but we just can not take on Miller unless Mika going back

Chytil, Sykora, Chmelar , 2025 1st (top-5 protected)
omg please no.

Going to be a fun 24 watching this unfold. Curious to know if it is true the nucks owner vetoed the deal?
