Feelin' good on a Wednesday
Even with Fox, we have the worst D-core/team D in the league. 30th defending off the rush, 32nd in allowing odd-man rushes, and 31st for shots allowed against.

But please tell me how Igor should steal games more fans you know who I'm talking about.
So plz tell me why you should spend 1/8 of the cap on a goaltender with no defense in front of him.

You could put an actual team out there with a 5M goalie & do better.

I don’t think much of Jones fit on this team but if they could get another young forward getting squeezed for ice time elsewhere I’d be thrilled for all parties. Someone with some energy. There’s a spot to be taken from Vesey up front and that’s with Othmann potentially getting the call in the next couple weeks.

They sucked last year too. Not to different from the situation here, Lavi wasn't the only problem.

But look what they GM did. He actually went out and made moves to try to get better. He didn't triple down on Ryan f***ing Lindgren.

Lightning drafted a #1 center before signing that Vasy contract.

Florida drafted a #1 center before signing that Bob contract.

Just saying.
Also...

Avs drafted a #1 center.

Vegas acquired a #1 center the only way that is possible.... By taking advantage of Buffalo.

Blues... See Vegas.

Washington drafted a #1 center.

Pittsburgh drafted two #1 centers (sigh).

Tldr:

It's not the goalie.

I'd be really surprised to get back our initial investment in him. D+5 guys with little progress and nothing outstanding in their game really don't pull that sort of returns but crazier things have happened. There are lots of smaller, puck moving defensemen who are unremarkable and are thus unable to really make noise in the NHL.

He's not a particularly special player at this point in his career but he's also not really getting a fair shake. But Drury has made it pretty clear he's not all that interested in the kids he didn't draft.

Most similar players to him go unclaimed on waivers.

I don't just want an energy player I want someone who can f***in play hockey

don't need some dipshit running around all over the ice but not accomplishing anything
I mean, let's be clear here, let's not just get players who we think fulfill one specific niche role of "hey he plays hard!" or "he blocks shots!" or "he can PK!"

let's actually get good players. There's such thing as a good third liner, a good 4th liner. It doesn't have to be some guy who sucks at everyhthing but bring "energy"

I read Vince’s new article earlier today and he wrote according to a few sources that the team is going to try and make a playoff push despite all this garbage going on

Drury the bonehead is going to rearrange the deck chairs in a futile attempt to make the playoffs, just for the team to still be ass
Making a push for the playoffs means they are trading Mika and krieder and Miller and Lindgren! Awesome!

Half the players need to go. The coaches need to go. The GM needs to go. This franchise needs an atomic bomb.

This is an absolute nightmare. I hope they learn from this and set a culture that prevents this from ever happening again. I'm not holding my breath.
I do not see this happening as long as Dolan continues to own the club.

Sounds a lot like a Dolan Directive to me.

That's probably more on the boss (Dolan) then Drury.

Dolan isn't known for giving 5 year timelines.
