I agree, that's a stretch to say he had a 100 point season in him, however, Fox is playing in an era where scoring is way up so I don't get the comparison, honestly.

I was a huge Zubov fan & honestly, I still don't see him as a HOFer. He played the majority of his career in the DPE where scoring was way down, but he was never in the conversation as an elite D man even in his prime.

.

scoring was about the same in Zubov's first 5 season as it was in Fox's.

Few more scratches and he might change his tune maybe? Would love to see his trade list. Probably all eastern confernce rivals, capped out teams or the beachfront teams.

I have zero issue trading Kreider in the division. Boston and Washington are 2 teams I think would have high interest. Maybe Philly too, but Kreider and Torts are classic old testament enemies.

Sorry RB, but this whole post is cartoonishly inhuman.
Merry Christmas.

These guys get paid millions of dollars to play a sport. These people on this board are so soft. I remember when Rick Nash's name was being mentioned in trade rumors in 2018. He didn't want to leave the Rangers because his son liked watching his daddy play for the Rangers. That's all he has known. Nash asked what will I tell my son if the Rangers trade me. Tell him son we are filthy rich and people got mad at me.

It's a business. Zero sympathy.

I feel bad for people spending hundreds of dollars to go watch the Rangers play and the Rangers players are upset about issues which are not under their job descriptions.

Santa has a list and he's checking it twice to find out who has been naughty or nice.

Drury has a list too. Clear out all of the names on the list.

More likely his muffin of a shot is the reason he's shooting 1.8% this year, or the fact he can't seem to get it on net without being blocked 80% of the time.

Stats definitely have their place, but they don't tell the whole story. It's not blasphemy to say that he's having a down year for his standards. We'll find out if this is correctable or a trend over the next 18 months.
And because Kreider isn’t screening the Goalie as much because of his ailing back.

How many are scoring 80-90?

3-4

Thats not a lot
Karlsson 101
Hughes 92
Makar 86
Hedman 85
Bouchard 82
Carlson 75
Morrissey 76
Edit---forgot to list Josi 95

All of these guys have higher scoring seasons than Fox ever has.

You also have guys like Dobson, Montour, Dahlin, Heiksanen who have scored more than 70 in the past few years. It's basically the golden era for offensive D-men.

Regardless of points, being the 5th-10th best Dmen of your era doesn't make you a "lock" for the HOF. I'm not crapping on the dude by pointing out that it's ok to be in the Hall of Very Good, which is where I think he winds up.

Yes. That was funny. The Rangers traded Zuccarello on a late Saturday afternoon. The Rangers were in Washington on Sunday afternoon. After the game, Henrik is crying about Zuccarello. Stop. The guy was traded to Dallas. Nothing happened to him. He didn't have a terminal illness. He was traded. His contract was expiring soon. The Stars nearly went to WCF that spring. This is a business. The players treat it as a business when their contracts are up and their agent squeezes every last concession from the team. It's a business for the team too. I couldn't stop laughing at Henrik crying. He stopped crying and said "it's tough". Stop. LOL. These players are pathetic. Kreider complains about everything. Jim Ramsey must have magic fingers because Chris sure loves him. Vince Mercogliano wrote Kreider was too emotionally distraught to speak to the media after the Rangers played Montreal with Ramsey. They spent 5 minutes after the game hugging and kissing each other. He didn't like how Trouba's situation was handled. He is probably the ringleader in the Goodrow nonsense too. Is Chris a player or the AGM? He doesn't want to leave but everything around the team is not good. Get the f*** out of here. Good-bye.

Hard disagree. This era of defensemen are scoring 80-90 points regularly. 70 is a blip on the radar. Plus I just can't see him being able to keep pace point wise when his skating really starts to hold him back. We're already seeing glimpses of that with his current 62 point pace. Fox needs to win at least another Norris or a Conn Smythe, IMO to have a shot.

As good as he is defensively, voters choose style over substance. Fox isn't gifted physically, nor does he take over games with flashy plays. Like it or not, Makar basically won the Norris over Josi in '22 based on that spin-o-rama goal early that season in Chicago.

Fox is not playing like a HOF this season imo. Whether that is due to his knee injury I can not say. If he bounces back maybe the HOF will be in the discussion but at this point he really needs to get back to playing at an all star level never mind at a HOF level. Now to be fair a knee injury is no joke and sometimes take 1-2 years for a guy to really bounce back. In the old days some guys were never able to regain 100% speed after knee injuries.

I agree, talking about the HOF is extremely premature. The priority should be regaining his peak form & taking his conditioning way more seriously than he has.

RB getting WAYYY too much shit. I agree with him. This is a business, you don’t play well you get moved. Thats the way it is. Screw these players for being whiny assholes that haven’t won a thing!
i think we all agree with him to a point... but treating people in an undignified way is bad for business... some businesses will always operate like this, treating people like S*it... they deserve each other.

the rangers are doing so many things wrong right now it's hard to keep track.

People also get fired. Or they're in a job where they can't easily be fired, even though they are totally incompetent, and they sit around collecting a paycheck.
yeah i get it.. thx. but when you're building a team.. chemistry, morale, leadership... all of the virtues you teach and cultivate, shouldn't come at the expense of cap dumps to overpay a goalie

Sports breakups, for the most part, are usually undignified. It's simply the nature of the biz & there's no shame in it. Brian Leetch was an icon & he was dumped unceremoniously. I don't think he ever played at MSG again because he was injured when he was a Bruin. Look at how they treated Hank, etc. Shit happens & it's rare that you get to choose your own ending.

There's no scenario in which the player's behavior and performance is acceptable. The only reason people are excusing Kreider are because of their personal feelings. I like Kreider too but a 34 year old PP/PK specialist taking ice time from our 2 best young forwards who happen to play the same position, is not moving this team forward.

The player's had to know changes were coming after losing to Florida. If they gave Goodrow an hour's notice, instead of 15 minutes, are all the bad feelings avoided? I doubt it. They were going to pout regardless.

Are you blaming Drury for that or Igor?

I have no problem with what Drury did in dumping Trouba and Goodrow. Neither of them should have been acquired/signed in the first place. If the remaining players are too upset about it to do their jobs, they can be moved too.
