Rangers are not in a position to make a 2 for 1 trade where they are trading the 2 roster players from the assumed future core going forward. Especially if one of those players is a LHD and there isn't one coming back.

Peterson only a year older than miller, same draft as Chytil .
oh you were talking about Pettersson.... either way.... I do not want another introverted type to add to Kreider and Zibs. It will be just more of the same

We're suppose to be changing the out the core for some attitude/fire.

Getting JT Miller back would be so NY Rangers. We were idiots to let him go in that deal, he goes and plays like an All Star in Vancouver, and then we bring him back to watch him underachieve and collect a paycheck.

I mean why not? Sell low, buy high.
It would be sick to see him come cherry-pick for offense, play negative defense, and start on ice fights with every teammate he doesn’t vibe with though.

this is the only reason to make a JTM trade. IF it's not a 'base' type swap ( minor additions are expected ) It serves no purpose.

Until such time that it's JT Miller, I'll hope it's Pettersson.

Chytil, Lindgren, Schneider, Othmann. Miller instead of Schneider. Maybe they are dumb and it can be just Lindgren. He's still young and maybe they don't know.

They are in as much turmoil as we are. They aren't getting full value for their players just like we won't, which is actually what makes them a match.

Elliott Friedman doesnt know shit. If it's Miller, the base is Mika.

trading for JTM or Pettersson, Zibs and/or Kreider have to be moved. Pettersson makes 11.6.

IF it's Pettersson they want, fine... but you have to move out cap first.

WTF!!!!??????????!!!!!

on what basis?

I don't give a flying or stationary fug about short term ramifications.
Move older mo expensive vets for more desirable quality youth
if that takes multiple steps to do, fine

A JT Miller for Mika swap seems very unlikely value-wise.

The JT Miller contract is way easier to maneuver. M-NTC after this year. Mika still has to waive, but I guess he would for VAN, Swedes have a long and successful history there (Naslund, Sedins, Salo, Edler, EP and so on) the nature is close by and more Sweden-like than NY and surroundings, I guess.

Mika + a 2nd in 2067 should do it hopefully.

And look at this golden nugget I found on the Mika deal. Here I was thinking it's a full NMC for the entirety of the contract!! But no, get this:

"No Move clause until 7 days prior to Trade Deadline in Year 8, at that point it converts to 21 team No Trade List"

Well thank f***ing god for that.

BTW: If a player waives the NMC is that for the entire remaining contract? Or only for that specific trade?

my guess is that van’s GM is trying to currently get drury to budge on schneider

gonna guess:

mika, schneider, othmann for miller, hoglander, rando, 2nd

and we’ll all hate it

Didn't they clarify this in the 2020 MOU to say that the clause always travels with the player if they are moved?
I don't know how that works with No Trade lists (can the player change the teams on it after a move?)
