fear is Drury is just going to lose Lindgren for nothing.... scared of upsetting the fragile room even more

I really just want to see what we look like with an actual top2-4 LHD next to Fox.

Rangers arent rebuilding and if you have been a fan of this team for more than 6 seconds you would realize they are terrible at drafting. The Rangers best draft pick since Kreider is JT Miller and he hasn't been on the team since the stupid MCD trade. Skjei whose best days were away from the Rangers? Who else KAM who the same people that want to rebuild want to give him away for nothing?Chytl who is 1 hit away from never playing again. Not many choices here.

Rangers are going to retool if anything and sign guys in FA that they think will change things.

Trading Zibs and swapping him for JT would change the dynamic of the room but he isn't going to waive for just any team. I also feel like no one wants to waive to go to Canada so I dont think a 1 for 1 swap is in the cards.

The only team that I can think of that would be interested and a team he may waive for is Boston. Boston needs offense and their centers have underwhelmed big time. I was on their board and someone said none of their centers may hIt 40 pts this year. Lindholm hasn't worked out. Does Boston do a Zibs for 1 of their dmen? Hampus would be ideal but Zadorov or Carlo could be used in the JT trade as they need RD. For cap purposes Frédéric probably has to be included and fans want him gone anyways. Chytil would have to move up temporarily until a trade for another center happens.

I dont see any other team that Zib would waive for that make sense. Think the Rangers are stuck with him.

Chytil has been so dynamic lately. Mika is starting to string together solid performances with points. Laf, unfortunately, continues to disappoint.

I'd still offer, without hesitation, Laf + Schneider for EP, but I wonder if Vancouver starts to see Chytil as a real target.

You guys have to take your blinders off
He’s just big and reckless
He’s had 1 good game and even in that one he gets suspended
He’s going to cost them more games cause the refs hate the guy which doesn’t help
sez you

Nope just waive Brodzinski and sit Vesey
got it the other way around
and that's assuming Brodz isn't > even one other guy on the roster

Chytil has been dynamic these past two seasons. He's just been dogged by injuries. If he can stay healthy, he can be a consistent 50-60 point player. He's always the most important player on each iteration of the kid line.

I think any GM would be concerned with Chytil's head health as the Rangers probably are right now.

Callahan, Ferraro, Kaplan all talking about leadership and “meat and potatoes” all weekend. Rangers have none. They are not going to be interested in another mope like Pettersson. It’s why they keep being tied too JT Miller and Brady T. They need a change to the room.

Borgen and Vaak can both skate and don’t mind playing physical. Can Drury find more guys like that to replace Crash test dummy Lindgren and Miller? Lauzon from Nashville has always been a Rangers target. He rates well as a skater per Jfresh and his tough and physical which we need. Look how our goalies get run. I’d love to get Xhekaj from Montreal. Fox needs someone who won’t let guys take liberties on him and Igor.

I'm not sure you'd want Xhekaj playing 23 mins a night next to Fox. He's a 5/6 d-man for a reason

That concern certainly has merit, but I think it can be alleviated by the fact that he's recovered each time and comes back stronger with improved play. I don't think we've had a conversation about regression in his game. It's strictly health-related. His growth as a player and center capable of driving play has been great to see.

Kaliyev on waivers from LA. Obviously he hasn't developed as they'd hoped and is an RFA after this season. Has flirted with 30 points previously. Worth a claim as a potential replacement for Vesey at RW?

I’d claim him as an extra body for when people are moved out. Vesey. Smith. Kreider? Right now, the only viable callup would be Othmann so they’ll need bodies

Pettersson has age on his side. He's still just 26. But he's also making a shit ton of money. If Drury wants to go that route and bring in a guy that's currently already a 1C I'd much, much rather Miller. I agree with you, Pettersson is not a guy that's going to help the country club environment. Miller plays with the sort of attitude we're looking for. But he's also 31, I don't know how long his shelf life is going to be. I don't mind if he's the target, I just hope Drury doesn't get fleeced going that route

The team needs an alpha in the room. The young foundation is very solid. It's the fragile vets that are coming up short. That's where they need a change.

Im not trading Lafreniere or Schneider for JT. Panarin, Kreider, K'Andre? Sure. Im seeing some value in Zibanejad recently. It most benefits all parties for him to get his act together. That's not going to save his BFF in all likelihood. The "upper body injury" is vague compared to him describing his injured back down to the vertebrae. Brodzinski had more jump than Kreider all season.

Also let it be known that I don’t think moving Trocheck is a good idea unless someone wants to get really dumb.
Yup if we need to move a center (who’s not Zibanejad) in order to build a package for 1C, between Trocheck and Chytil I’d unfortunately have to go with the Czech.

Kaliyev is such an obvious waiver claim to make. Body who can fill in once some of these trades go down. Big 23 year old winger. 825k cap hit expiring after this season so no commitment. So Drury clearly wont do it.
I was not a Kaliyev fan in his draft year but I also think I got him wrong. Seems like an obvious claim but I don't know if I'd assume Drury has a deal lined up already. Really, worse case scenario is we waive him again 2 weeks from now. An hour of MSG hotdog fees should be enough to cover the waiver fee.

75/25 (himself/the organization), was never good to begin with, 75/25 (the organization/himself) :naughty:
Anderson went to LAK and after awhile found himself out of lineup. How’s he different from Kravtsov?

Kakko should have spend his first year in Hartford. Is this worth 25%? If yes then sure
